After a year of sportscar excursion, Giorgio Maggi returns as one of SpeedHouse’s EuroNASCAR PRO drivers in 2025.
Giorgio Maggi is set for a return to the NASCAR Euro Series. After a year away, the Swiss driver was signed by SpeedHouse to race in EuroNASCAR PRO for the upcoming 2025 season.
Maggi left the sport at the end of 2024 after five successful years in EuroNASCAR PRO and EuroNASCAR OPEN. He primarily raced in CIGT for Double T Racing, but he also made a couple of Porsche Supercup appearances as a wildcard.
Stock cars would come calling again for the 27-year old driver though, as demonstrated by his signing with SpeedHouse. Maggi will race the No. 33 Ford Mustang, effectively replacing Lucas Lasserre in the driver’s seat at SpeedHouse.
“I’m very happy to return to the NASCAR Euro Series with SpeedHouse,” said Maggi in the official announcement. “My season in the Italian GT with Ferrari was amazing, but I’m really excited to be back in this unique series.”
“The atmosphere in EuroNASCAR is truly unmatched. Joining such an experienced team like SpeedHouse is a great opportunity and I believe we have the potential to fight for the championship.”
“I immediately felt a great connection with the team’s management, and I can’t wait to make my debut in Valencia. I’m already looking forward to getting back behind the wheel!”
Maggi demonstrated what he can do behind the wheel of a stock car from his debut year in 2019. He immediately became the primary championship contender in EuroNASCAR OPEN. Maggi ultimately finished as the runner-up behind Lasse Sørensen after a narrow loss in the Zolder finale.
A move to EuroNASCAR PRO was given to Maggi in 2020, where he established himself as a consistent driver. Results were hard to come by initially, but in 2022 he stepped up his game and became a regular fixture in the top-5 positions.
Maggi secured a top-5 finish that year, guaranteeing him the status as one of EuroNASCAR’s Grade A drivers. His latest season in 2023 was a year full of misfortunes, but a podium at Zolder showed the speed that lies underneath him.
It is this speed that convinced Lasserre to sign him for 2025. With an exciting line-up of Maggi, Vladimiros Tziortzis and Ulysse Delsaux, Lasserre is confident with SpeedHouse’s prospects in the upcoming season.
“We are delighted to welcome Giorgio to SpeedHouse for the 2025 EuroNASCAR PRO season,” said Lasserre in the official announcement.
“He is not only a very strong driver but also an exceptional person. We’ve already had some great battles in the past, and I know his racing approach very well. It’s something that I deeply value.”
“After his experience in the Italian GT Championship, he came back and felt immediately comfortable in the car during our testing day. I’m convinced he will be a serious contender for the title this year.”
“This project is also a human adventure, and I want to warmly thank Cornelia and Romeo Maggi. Welcome on board, Giorgio! Welcome on Blue!”
