Davit Kajaia and Sandro Tavartkiladze will become the first Georgian EuroNASCAR competitors after they secured a full-time seat with Marko Stipp Motorsport.

After becoming the first Georgian drivers to test the EuroNASCAR stock cars in February, Davit Kajaia and Sandro Tavartkiladze have received an opportunity that’s unlike any other.

Marko Stipp Motorsport announced on 3 April 2025 that Kajaia and Tavartkiladze have both secured a full-time seat with the team. The news meant that they are set to become the Georgian’s to ever race in the sport.

Kajaia and Tavartkiladze made headlines in February when they visited Cremona Circuit in Italy for that month’s Recruitment Tests. Due to its historic nature, we interviewed both drivers to highlight their accomplishments in this Feature article.

The visit was supported by the Georgia Automobile Sport Federation (GASF), who offered them the chance to do the test.

Two months later, GASF would once again come to their aid. GASF helped secure Kajaia and Tavartkiladze’s contracts by securing a primary sponsorship deal with MSM.

GASF’s sponsorship deal sees the No. 48 Chevrolet Camaro decked in a grey-and-maroon livery. Georgia’s flag, the Five-Cross Flag (ხუთჯვრიანი დროშა), will be featured prominently on the hood of the No. 48 car.

“Georgians have always had a passion for winning,” a GASF representative said to nascar.eu. “It is in our blood and we are always ready for new battles.”

“Our participation in NASCAR is a new battle where our drivers will spare no effort to glorify the name of our country and our flag!”

Kajaia is ecstatic to be able to secure a full-time campaign with Marko Stipp Motorsport. The 41-year old previously said that he’ll be “really happy” if he races in EuroNASCAR during our Feature interview.

Kajaia is already an established name in touring cars. He most recently competed in TCR Eastern Europe and also raced in FIA Motorsport Games’s GT Sprint event.

Now, the Tbilisi-born driver receives a chance to show what he can do behind the wheel of an EuroNASCAR stock car.

“First of all, it’s exciting to try something new, especially the type of car that NASCAR offers without any electronic driving aids,” said Kajaia to nascar.eu.

“I will try my best to adapt quickly to the car and strive for victory. I’m always proud to represent my small country in a well-known and prestigious championship like NASCAR.”

Tavartkiladze revealed back in February that he has started talks with teams to see if he can find a seat for 2025. Fast forward to April and Tavartkiladze has accomplished his goal.

Tavartkiladze is considered as one of Georgia’s fastest young talents. He primarily competes in open wheels and hill climbs, showcasing plenty of speed in both categories.

As of 2024, Tavartkiladze is a five-time Georgian Hill Climb champion and a three-time Georgia Formula champion. For 2025, Tavartkiladze aims to increase this tally on his first major international campaign since 2019.

“I expect a competitive and challenging season as I adapt to the unique racing style of EuroNASCAR,” said Tavartkiladze to nascar.eu.

“The close, hard-fought battles on track are something I’m really looking forward to. I’m excited to learn, improve and prove myself in this championship.”

“It’s a great honor to be the first representative of my country in EuroNASCAR. I’m very proud to be able to achieve this. It’s an opportunity to showcase our talent on an international stage and inspire other drivers back home to pursue their dreams in motorsports!”
