Ryan Vargas will complete his international journey during the 2024 season with one last race at his home track Irwindale Speedway.
The Irwindale Speedway will permanently close its doors at the end of 2024. North America’s “House of Drifting” will end its 25-year tenure with one last race on 21 December 2024 and Ryan Vargas is among those that will take part in this event.
Vargas announced his entry to Irwindale’s final late model race through social media on 10 December 2024. The American, who raced full-time in EuroNASCAR this year, will end his 2024 campaign at the track that started his racing dreams.

“I’m proud to announce that I will be returning to my home track, Irwindale Speedway as they run their final ever race on December 21,” announced the 24-year old.
“Irwindale to me was the place I fell in love with NASCAR. It was the place where my dream became a reality, where I won a track championship, a dozen or so races and made lifelong memories with my family and friends.”
“I’m also proud to share that I have two amazing partners joining me for this race. Swann Security returns for their first race in two years while Sandy Vans joins the fray for their first ever race!”

The opportunity to compete at Irwindale’s final race is something that Vargas will cherish. Vargas, who was born in La Mirada, California, grew up just 18 miles from Irwindale.
The high octane action from Irwindale inspired Vargas to try out motorsport. His success at Irwindale has led him to receive plenty of racing opportunities not just in the United States, but also worldwide. Therefore, it’s not a surprise that the American is forever grateful for everything that Irwindale has provided to his racing career.
“I’m really excited to head to Irwindale Speedway for the last ever race at the track!” said Vargas to World of EuroNASCAR.
“Having grown up there, racing at that track since I was 12 years old, getting to be able to the place that made me fall in love with racing for one final time is obviously very special.”
“Nonetheless, to do it with two partners, one being Swann Security who is a long-time partner of mine and them joining back for our first race in two years, and then another one which is a new partner for us in Sandy Vans. It’s just really cool to see everybody joining together for this race.”

“A lot of people have interest in this race. A lot of people have been getting excited about it. You know, it’s unfortunate that the track is shutting down, but it’s been an incredible experience getting to put this deal together and get one last shot racing at my home track.”
“To me, Irwindale Speedway is the perfect short track. It has multiple lanes for racing, it’s a wide racing groove. There’s five lanes to choose from and it’s just such a blast to drive!”
“I have so much fun racing there in real life. When I’m able to race there in late models growing up, it’s one of those tracks that really taught me a lot on what I know today.”
“Hopefully I’m not too rusty going back there for the first time in I think about five years. It’s just really exciting to go back to the place that made me fall in love with racing!”
