Roy Hendriks talks about Hendriks Motorsport’s 1-2 finish in the Endurance Teams Championship at Vallelunga and their plan to fight in the latter rounds of the 2024 season.

Hendriks Motorsport was the team to beat during the 2024 American Festival of Rome at Autodromo Vallelunga after they secured a 1-2 finish in the Endurance Teams Championship, EuroNASCAR’s new format for the team’s title.

The No. 7 Orion Ford of Martin Doubek carried the Dutch team to the victory thanks to the Czech driver’s sweep in EuroNASCAR 2 and double podium finish in EuroNASCAR PRO, finishing with an aggregate time of 2 hours, 12 minutes and 8.955 seconds.

The sister No. 50 HOOSH Toyota followed behind with a total time of 2 hours, 12 minutes and 35.804 seconds. Gil Linster led the No. 50 team’s efforts with a double podium in EuroNASCAR 2, with Liam Hezemans assisting through his Junior Trophy victory in ENPRO’s Sunday race.

Both Hendriks cars finished ahead of Marko Stipp Motorsport’s No. 46 team, which took the final spot on the podium after they narrowly beat CAAL Racing’s No. 54 team in aggregate.

“We are very happy with our results in Vallelunga,” said team owner Roy Hendriks to World of EuroNASCAR. “Being able to have both first and second place in the Teams Championship is something we did before.”

“However, this is the first time in the new format. In the end, having both cars finish in a high position is always the team’s aim.”

The 1-2 result put Hendriks back in the contention after problems in Valencia left them with a large deficit to catch.

They’re now only six points behind the new championship leader Race Planet Team Bleekemolen’s No. 72 team – who took the lead after a top-5 finish in Italy – and the team understands that consistency will be the key to win the Teams Championship in 2024.

“In Spain, we had some bad luck with a flat tire and a mechanical parts failure,” said Roy on Hendriks’ plan for future rounds. “This of course impacts the total result.”

“It is part of racing and we are not all too worried about it. As a team we try to be constant, and make sure our cars are in top condition every race.”
