The return of reigning champion Léo Torres headlined the entry changes for NASCAR Brazil’s night race at Londrina.

Several NASCAR Brasil Series drivers, including the reigning champion Léo Torres, are set to make their return to the championship for the third round of the season: The #NightChallenge at Londrina’s Autodromo Internacional Ayrton Senna.

Torres joined a field of 31 drivers and 23 cars entered for Londrina. The champion will share a ride with Rafael Reis onboard the No. 2 Singus Competition Ford Mustang that had been raced by Nick Monteiro in the last two rounds.

Nick himself will not enter the Londrina night race, leaving father Beto as the sole Monteiro on the grid.

Another driver that will not take part is Unikka Racing Team’s Antonio Junquiera, but his No. 16 Villa Stradale Ford Mustang was still on the track – driven by Marco Garcia – on Friday Practice.

There’s a factor to explain why: Singus Competition had acquired the entry. It is expected to be a one-off, as entries changes are a relatively easy matter to handle due to how NASCAR Brazil is in charge of managing and maintenance for all of their cars.

Singus also acquired the entry for the No. 72 team from Maxon Racing Team in exchange for the No. 63 entry. The No. 72 car will now compete as the No. 77 Angelub / Ariel CNPI Chevrolet Camaro, featuring Valdeno Brito and Dorivaldo Gondra Jr. as its drivers.

The resulting entry swap led Luís Trombini to make the move over to Maxon. He will continue his participation with the No. 63 Philco Camaro with Giovani Girotto – previously from the No. 72 team – as his new teammate.

Additionally, Maxon will change the number of their No. 45 entry. With Goiânia pole sitter Lourenço Beirão completing his move to the team, his signature No. 20 will be used as their new car number at Londrina.

Beirão also added two new sponsors to his new entry: Squadro and Puma. Puma is a long-time sponsor for the Portuguese and was present in his car during his victory at Interlagos last year.

Finally, Race Engineering will be one car short because rapper MC Gui and his No. 1 Mais 1 Café Ford Mustang aren’t entered for Londrina.
