Race Art Technology retains Thomas Toffel and Edouard Fatio, with the two Swiss drivers set to race the blue-liveried No. 34 SIMATOK Chevrolet across all three classes.

Thomas Toffel and Edouard Fatio will continue their adventure in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series after the two Swiss drivers announced their decision to extend their contract with Race Art Technology for the upcoming 2024 season.

Just like in 2023, Toffel and Fatio will be sharing the No. 34 Chevrolet Camaro with Toffel running double duty and Fatio taking part in the Club Challenge.

Unlike last year, however, their Camaro will have a brand new look as Swiss simulator company SIMATOK becomes the new primary sponsor. The change in sponsor also brought a new look for the No. 34 car, which will have a blue livery for 2024.

Toffel made his EuroNASCAR debut in 2023 after several years of training his craft in four-wheel racing. It proved to be a bumpy season for the 33-year old, who experienced the lowest of lows and the highest of highs.

His disqualification from the second EN2 race at Vallelunga for causing the Big One was offset by his shock runner-up finish at Oschersleben, coming close to securing Race Art’s maiden victory in the sport.

Repeating the peak at Oschersleben would be the goal for Toffel in 2024. It’s a target that he is preparing from early on, courtesy of a successful pre-season testing session at Circuit Ricardo Tormo in January.

“I really love the atmosphere in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series,” said Toffel to euronascar.com. “I want to keep the momentum we gained in 2023 and fight for a top-5 finish in EuroNASCAR 2 and a top-12 finish in EuroNASCAR PRO.”

“Obviously, I want to win the Challenger Trophy but my second place in EuroNASCAR 2 at Oschersleben was my highlight so far. I’m hungry for more of those great memories.”

Fatio, the 54-year old from Porsel, is the owner of SIMATOK. Having raced in both two and four wheels since 1987, he used the experience that he has gained to form SIMATOK in 2010 – just a year after his initial retirement from motorsport.

SIMATOK’s success as a brand led Fatio to consider joining racing again and an opportunity was found when he found out that Toffel plans to enter EuroNASCAR.

Fatio and Toffel agreed to make a partnership that is designed to improve Toffel’s skills in the ever-competitive world of EuroNASCAR, something that Fatio himself supports through his participation in Club Challenge.

“Every moment with our team is just wonderful,” said Fatio on his partnership with Toffel. “The championship is very well organized, with pure racing cars that I really like. I’m also there to analyze the data with Thomas and give him advice. We use the Club Challenge so I know what it’s like to drive the car.”
