Rette Jones Racing came out on top in Thursday’s Prologue tests that kickstarted the 2025 NASCAR Euro Series season opener in Spain.

The 2025 NASCAR Euro Series season officially starts on Thursday with the Prologue tests. EuroNASCAR’s Prologue gathers all participating competitors for one last pre-season testing to dial in their cars before things get serious on Friday.

The Prologue is done by hosting two 90-minute test sessions on Thursday afternoon. All 24 participating teams took to the track to log in the data needed before the race week proper starts.

This Prologue is especially important for the three new teams entering the sport in 2025.

Rette Jones Racing, Alumitec Racing and M Racing need every experience they can get as they will enter the 2025 Valencia NASCAR Fest with no prior race outings, even if they have an alliance deal to give them a leg-up from their rivals.

As such, it is perhaps a surprise to see Rette Jones ending up as the top car in the Prologue. The No. 30 Mirkaafenaerenauto.lu Ford topped the times with a fastest lap of 1:40.947.

Rette Jones is trailed by SpeedHouse’s No. 64 HTFX Ford Mustang. Vladimiros Tziortzis showed his potential by bringing his new machine to second overall with a time of 1:41.281.

The Cypriot also led the first Prologue test session. He finished ahead of Thomas Krasonis, who ended up sixth overall.

Paul Jouffreau brought RDV’s No. 3 Ford Mustang to third, befitting his car number. Alumitec’s Gianmarco Ercoli was fourth ahead of his arch rival, the reigning champion Vittorio Ghirelli.

Club Motorsport continued their good Valencia track record from 2024 by finishing seventh overall. Team Bleekemolen’s No. 69 team, M Racing and Hendriks Motorsport completed the top-10.

It should be noted that times of Prologue are not representative of the actual pace. With no incentives to go 100% just yet, many drivers chose to use the used set of tires for the Prologue.

The Prologue is also used for one last check at the new Samsonas RS90 sequential gearboxes that everyone will use for 2025. From what EuroNASCAR reported, there is a consensus of approval for these new gearbox units.

“The new gearbox makes a big difference,” said Gianmarco to nascar.eu. “Thanks to the new gearbox, you can concentrate much better on your driving style. You can control the gear changes a lot better and you can really attack in the car.”

“I tried the new gearbox and it was really fun,” Jouffreau said to nascar.eu. “The car has a more sporty balance now and you have to change gears a lot. It’s an amazing feeling for the driver.”

“The new gearbox is a lot of fun,” adds Bremotion’s Dominique Schaak. “I’m also really happy that the season is finally starting. The winter was very long and we needed to shake off the dust.”
