Thomas Krasonis joins powerhouse team PK Carsport to race the No. 13 Costamare Inc. Camaro in 2025.

Thomas Krasonis quickly establishes his intention to aim for bigger things in 2025. In a stunning move announced on 17 January 2025, Krasonis revealed that he will join PK Carsport for the upcoming season.

Krasonis will go bold by selecting car number 13 as his machine number at PK. He will also continue to compete double duty, reflecting his desire to make more progress in 2025.

“We are happy to have Thomas on board,” said PK Carsport’s team boss Anthony Kumpen. “He showed really good progress last season, as he was on the podium several times in the second half of the season. He should be a contender for the OPEN championship.”

Krasonis enjoyed a career best season in 2024. The Greek driver finished third in the EuroNASCAR OPEN standings, with a double podium finish in the season finale at Zolder highlighting his rapid progress.

Krasonis also performed well in EuroNASCAR PRO. He finished eighth in the standings, scoring seven top-10 finishes. He nearly visited the podium at Zolder, only missing out because Gianmarco Ercoli’s post-race penalty was rescinded upon further review.

The successes in 2024 made it easy for Krasonis to decide his goals for the 2025 season.

“The goals are clear after last season,” said Krasonis to euronascar.com. “I want to win the OPEN championship and finish in the top 5 in the PRO division.”

“I will focus on each race in both championships, there’s no priority for me. I want to be a contender in both championships and fight for trophies. I’m really excited and I’m looking forward to the new season with PK Carsport and I’m grateful for their trust.”

“I’m sure we can achieve our goals together as I have the support of Anthony Kumpen and Alon Day, both champions in the series. I also thank my sponsors Costamare Shipping and Dodoni, without them this whole project would not be possible.”

Krasonis’ move to PK Carsport was made possible due to his link up with Alon Day. Day returned to the series in 2024 on an off-track role, aiming to find the next great EuroNASCAR talent.

Day found his first protege in Krasonis, and the Greek quickly learned the tricks and trades that made the Israeli so successful.

It is Day who also helped Krasonis to make contact with Kumpen. He convinced the Belgian to bring PK back into a two-car team to give the chance for his protege to shine.

“He [Krasonis] has a really good coach in Alon Day,” acknowledged Kumpen. “We have won championships with Alon and myself at PK Carsport. With the progress he has made and the experience we have as a team, the title has to be his.”

“I’m looking forward to this collaboration, it will be a strong car with a new number, the #13. The driver likes the number 13, but I like it too. We will be running a second car, but that will be announced later.”
