Our first Race Preview for the 2024 American SpeedFest 11 takes a look at the changes that had been announced in the Provisional Entry List for Brands Hatch.

Brands Hatch will be hosting the third round of the 2024 NASCAR Whelen Euro Series season for the eleventh edition of EuroNASCAR’s “crown jewel” event: American SpeedFest 11, Powered by Lucas Oil.

The SpeedFest has always provided thrills and excitement both on and off the track, which contributes to the event’s great popularity among the fans in the United Kingdom.

With more than 50,000 spectators visiting SpeedFest 10 last year, EuroNASCAR and organizers MotorSport Vision (MSV) are ready to ensure that this year’s running will be just as grand as ever.

It wasn’t just the fans that were enthusiastic about American SpeedFest 11 as the Provisional Entry List revealed a colorful cast of 28 cars and 43 drivers, all ready to give the fans the best show possible at the 1.944 kilometer Indy Circuit.

Three cars that took part in the previous round will not make the trip across the English Channel.

The most notable omission is Academy Motorsport’s No. 5 team, who will miss the event because their chassis was too damaged to be repaired after Claudio Remigio Cappelli’s heavy shunt in the Saturday race at Vallelunga.

Cappelli has been reassigned by the team to race the No. 1 HTFX Ford Mustang in EuroNASCAR 2, leaving Vladimiros Tziortzis to solely focus his efforts in EuroNASCAR PRO once again.

Vict Motorsport and SpeedHouse Racing also elected to not enter the No. 9 and No. 64 teams respectively, which is not a surprise given their status as part-time entrants.

However, there will be two part-timers added to the mix. Both entries involved RDV Competition in some form: The French team will field the No. 16 Ford Mustang while also supporting Team Japan Needs24 on their return to the championship.

The No. 16 Ford Mustang’s addition meant that RDV will race as a multi-car team for the first time since Most in 2021. This car will be driven by Frederic Perriat in ENPRO and Alain Grand in EN2, the latter set for his first EuroNASCAR race in twelve years.

Perriat’s debut ENPRO weekend, coupled with Kenko Miura’s return with his own team, marked the only notable changes in the field of 27 drivers for EuroNASCAR’s top division.

The home fans will have two drivers to support in EuroNASCAR PRO: Jack Davidson and Max Marzorati. Davidson once again goes double duty with Lux Motorsport, while Marzorati is prepared to make an impression with Double V Racing after his debut at Italy.

For EuroNASCAR 2, the 22 full-time drivers will be joined by four part-timers to create a stand out 26-car grid. Outside of Grand and Miura, there will be two additional entries fielded by Club Motorsport – The Club’s new identity – as they’re set to make their first EN2 starts for the season.

Gordon Barnes will lead the EN2 charge for the Italian team, who is listed to race the No. 55 Dinoil Camaro alongside Club’s owner Fabrizio Armetta.

The three-time Club Challenge champion is duly set to make just his second outing in EuroNASCAR’s junior division, having made his competitive debut in last year’s American SpeedFest with Bremotion.

Barnes will be joined by 55-year old Italian Giovanni Faraonio. Faraonio is Riccardo Romagnoli’s former partner in the ACI Italian Sport Prototypes Championship (CISP), sharing the championship’s spec Aprilia RSV4-powered Wolf GB08 together in 2019.

Now, they will share driving duties for the V8-powered No. 43 UTOR/FOMAS Group Chevrolet Camaro at Brands Hatch on their first event as teammates in stock car racing.
