Gil Linster is set to mentor Luxembourgish young talent Pol Leytem on Leytem’s first car racing season in the 2024 DMV BMW 318ti Cup.
DMV BMW 318ti Cup welcomes the arrival of EuroNASCAR 2 driver Gil Linster to the championship after it was announced that Linster and young talent Pol Leytem will form an all-Luxembourger duo in the Cuntz Motorsport team.
Linster, who is staying with Hendriks Motorsport for the upcoming EuroNASCAR season and recently finished seventh in the ARCA Menards Series race at Daytona, will serve as the experienced mentor for the 16-year old Leytem.

“DMV Young Talent driver Pol Leytem will have prominent support in his debut season in the DMV BMW 318ti Cup,” announced DMV BMW 318ti Cup. “NASCAR star Gil Linster from Luxembourg will support his 16-year-old compatriot in his first season in motor racing.”
Pol Leytem has been widely regarded in the Luxembourg racing scene as a highly talented young driver. His talents earned him a chance to join DMW BMW’s Young Talents program and Linster is full of praise for his new teammate.

“I consider Pol to be the greatest talent in Luxembourg motorsport and have been supporting him for a very long time,” said Linster in the official announcement. “We work together intensively and I try to achieve the best possible outcome for his sporting future.”
Cuntz Motorsport is the racing division of Autohaus Cuntz, a dealership chain for BMW cars that were based near Mannheim, Germany.
The team led by Niklas Petri fielded one full-time car and four part-time entries in 2023, finishing 11th in the Team’s championship while their sole full-time driver Marco Grimm finished 24th in the Driver’s standings.

Cuntz plans to continue to field up to five cars in the 2024 season, with Linster and Leytem set to race the No. 458 entry. The team also features ex-Formula One driver Timo Glock, who will partner Loris Scheider – son of DTM legend Timo Scheider – in the No. 454 BMW 318ti.
Linster and Leytem will begin racing next weekend in the season opening round at the Hockenheimring. More info about the DMV BMW 318ti Cup and their upcoming 2024 season can be checked in the series’ official website.
