Roberto Benedetti has extended his contract with CAAL Racing and will continue to race the No. 88 Chevrolet in the EuroNASCAR 2 division.
Roberto Benedetti will be staying as the EuroNASCAR 2 driver and partner of Max Lanza in CAAL Racing’s No. 88 Chevrolet Camaro after his contract extension with the Italian team was announced on 13 March 2024.
Benedetti embarked on his most successful EuroNASCAR season with CAAL last year. The EuroNASCAR veteran, whose 2023 season was only his second full-season campaign in his career, made a significant improvement in performance after he made the switch to the powerhouse CAAL team.

While he missed out on a top-10 standings finish, he brought home a total of seven top-10 finishes – a 700% improvement from his 2022 results where he scored zero top-10’s. This also includes a top-5 finish at Zolder, which was his best finish since his podium at Franciacorta in 2017.
He also finished third in the Legend Trophy sub-championship, trailing overall winner Melvin de Groot by 21 points despite only scoring one Legend Trophy victory all season.

With a full season of experience gained onboard the No. 88 CAAL team, Benedetti aims to improve his position in the Legend Trophy ranks and establish himself as a consistent top contender on the sub-classification for drivers aged 40 and above.
“I want to improve my pace and finish even higher in the EuroNASCAR 2 overall standings,” said Benedetti to euronascar.com. “I love the old school style of EuroNASCAR and the pure racing that the series brings to the drivers, teams and fans from around the world.”
