Marko Stipp Motorsport mutually agrees to split with Davit Kajaia, Sandro Tavartkiladze and Sven van Laere in the build-up to the 2025 NASCAR GP Italy.

Marko Stipp Motorsport makes a tough decision in the build-up to the NASCAR GP Italy at Autodromo Vallelunga.

The German team announced that they will be splitting off with three of their drivers from the season opening Valencia round: Davit Kajaia, Sandro Tavartkiladze and Sven van Laere.

“Marko Stipp Motorsport and Georgian Automobile Sport Federation have mutually agreed to go separate ways moving forward,” announced MSM on 2 May 2025. “Additionally, we have also mutually decided to part ways with Sven van Laere.”

“We would like to thank Davit Kajaia, Sandro Tavartkiladze and Sven van Laere for their efforts and dedication. We wish them all the best in their future endeavors both on and off the track.”

The news comes as a major blow for MSM, who only secured their Valencia line-up with a few days to spare.

Despite this setback, MSM is committed to continue their participation in the sport. MSM are looking for drivers that can fill up the now-vacant seats in their team.

As things stands, MSM currently only has Max Marzorati signed to EuroNASCAR PRO in the No. 47 Camaro.

“We’re reshaping things and working hard behind the scenes,” said the German team on 5 May. “Our EuroNASCAR journey continues and we’re not backing down!”

“We’re actively looking for new drivers and will keep you posted as soon as there’s news. Thank you all for your support!”

For Kajaia and Tavartkiladze, their journey in EuroNASCAR looks set to continue in Italy. This prospect was raised after GASF made a post on social media that revealed the existence of a “Team Georgia by RDV”.

The Team Georgia post includes photos of a No. 9 Chevrolet Camaro and a tag to both Kajaia and Tavartkiladze, suggesting that they will be racing for this new entity at Vallelunga.

From the photos that are circulating, it implies that Team Georgia will be using the chassis that Team Bleekemolen fielded for Thomas Dombrowski during the Frenchman’s two-year stint at Bleekemolen.

Following Dombrowski’s departure to PK Carsport, Team Bleekemolen returned this chassis to Team FJ during the 2024 winter break as part of their 2025 downsizing plans.

Team FJ then transformed this chassis as one of their test cars in the 2025 off-season. Now, this chassis looks set to have a new lease of life as part of Team Georgia’s planned entry to the sport.

As for Sven van Laere, his status for the rest of the 2025 season is still unknown. The Belgian made an unexpected return to EuroNASCAR in Valencia after he retired midway through 2024 due to health issues.
