Matthias Hauer will not be competing in the 2025 EuroNASCAR OPEN championship due to torn ligaments.

Matthias Hauer will not proceed forward with his plans to compete part-time in the 2025 NASCAR Euro Series season. The German’s withdrawal was announced by EuroNASCAR on 24 April 2025.

EuroNASCAR’s announcement states that Hauer is unable to compete due to torn ligaments that he suffered during the winter break. Hauer has undergone surgery and is preparing for a return in 2026.

“Matthias Hauer was set to return to the NASCAR Euro Series with Speedhouse in 2025, after not racing in 2024,” announced EuroNASCAR.

“The German driver intended to participate in the OPEN championship as a part-time competitor. However, he has now had to postpone his comeback plans due to health issues.”

“The Frankfurt-based lawyer suffered torn ligaments and underwent surgery during the winter break. He is now working hard to get back in shape, but it is unlikely that he will be able to compete in any races in the 2025 season.”

No official statement was provided by Hauer in the release. The news meant that there’s an open vacancy in the No. 64 HTFX Ford Mustang that Hauer was due to share with Vladimiros Tziortzis.
