Full Time Sports announced that Formula One legend Rubens Barrichello will lead the team’s first NASCAR Brasil Series campaign in 2025.
A Formula One legend is heading to NASCAR’s newest championship this year. Rubens Barrichello, the fan-favorite Brazilian racing legend, will spearhead the maiden campaign of Full Time Sports in the 2025 NASCAR Brasil Series season.
Barrichello’s announcement was revealed through a video posted by Full Time Sports on 26 February 2025. In that video, Barrichello revealed his intention to compete in NASCAR Brasil and why he decided to take on the NASCAR challenge with Full Time.
Barrichello will also compete in the 2025 Stock Car Pro Series season. Because there are no clashes in the calendars of NASCAR Brasil and Stock Car Pro, it’s very likely that “Rubinho” will contest the full season in both championships.

“I’m going to race NASCAR Brasil this year,” said the 52-year old from Sao Paulo. “I’m very happy! I’ll be racing for the Full Time Sports team.”
“It’s a unique opportunity as it’s a category on the rise. I have to use my youth, my will and my speed while it’s with me. So I’m very happy and I’m counting on the fans [for the support]!”
As mentioned, Barrichello is best known for his 19-year long stint in Formula One. Starting his career with Jordan Grand Prix, “Rubinho” found success in teams such as Stewart, Ferrari, Honda, Brawn GP and finally Williams before he left F1 at the end of the 2011 season.
During his time in F1, Barrichello gained plenty of support for his colorful personality. This is best demonstrated on his first win at Hockenheim in 2000, where he broke into tears as it dawned that he had finally achieved the big one.

The wave of support followed through Rubinho’s post-F1 career. After a season in IndyCar, Barrichello signed up with Full Time Sports and started a career renaissance in Stock Car Pro Series.
Barrichello quickly established himself as Full Time Sports’ undisputed star driver and carried the team to their first Stock Car Pro title in 2014. Since then, Rubinho showed that he still got it as he added a second championship title in 2022.
During this time, he also trained his sons Eduardo and Fernando to follow his footsteps in motorsport. Eduardo finished third in last year’s Stock Car Pro season and is set for his maiden WEC campaign with Racing Spirit of Léman in 2025.
It should be noted that Barrichello will not be the only Stock Car Pro driver to double up in NASCAR Brasil. Gabriel Casagrande, reigning champion of both Stock Car Pro and NASCAR Brasil, is set for a double title defense in 2025.
