Gabriel Casagrande and Alex Seid will defend their NASCAR Brasil Series championship crown with MX Vogel in the upcoming 2025 season.

Reigning NASCAR Brasil Series champions Gabriel Casagrande and Alex Seid will find themselves in the same team once again for the upcoming 2025 season.

Both Casagrande and Seid will be racing together with MX Vogel in 2025. Seid’s signing was announced first on 31 January 2025, followed by Casagrande on 9 February 2025.

Casagrande and Seid’s signing with MX Vogel meant that the Petropolis-based team had signed four all-star caliber drivers.

Previously, MX Vogel confirmed that the 2023 champion Leo Torres and Cristais oval winner Guilherme Backes will be racing for the team in 2025.

Seid’s rise in the Brazilian motorsport scene has been remarkable. The Sao Paulo native is an extremely late bloomer: He only started his racing career in 2018 at the age of 33 years old.

Having quickly risen through the formula feeder series, Seid jumped to NASCAR Brasil’s predecessor series GT Sprint Race in 2020. He established himself as an immediate challenger, winning the PRO AM class on his debut season.

Seid are among those who made the transition to NASCAR Brasil on the first NASCAR sanctioned season in 2023. He did not win a race that year, but was consistent enough to finish third in the PRO class.

For 2024, he decided to team up with Casagrande in the No. 83 Axalta / Milltec1 Chevrolet for the full season. Casagrande was the faster of the two, but Seid’s consistency cannot be overlooked.

They scored points in every round and never suffered a DNF, giving them the key to capture the overall title at Cristais.

Now with his name enshrined in the NASCAR Hall of Fame, Seid is ready to give his all to defend his title and put his name on the map in the United States.

“I’m very happy to be in the championship for another year and now with the status of champion,” said Seid in the official announcement

“The goal is to defend the title with the incentive of the category growing, new locations and NASCAR USA keeping an eye on it. I‘m very excited about the team system and to be in MX Vogel, which is going to be a strong team.”

“Working with Eduardo Serratto, with whom I have an excellent relationship, and with the team, I will have a lot to learn from their experience.”

Casagrande’s talents need no introduction. The 29-year old driver is the current undisputed best driver in Brazil, having won both the Stock Car Pro Series and NASCAR Brasil titles in 2024.

Casagrande plans to defend both trophies in 2025 and with his status as Vogel’s lead driver in Stock Car Pro Series, it’s only natural that the Francisco Beltrão native chose MX Vogel as his destination in the upcoming NASCAR Brasil season.

“I’m very happy to be announcing my participation in another season of NASCAR Brazil with the MX Vogel team, working with professionals that I know and trust a lot,” said Casagrande, who will race with the No. 83 on his machine.

“The expectation is high to start this season, which is so important for the category, and we will go after another title if God wills it.”

“It is very important to have Gabriel, who has an enviable resume,” said Mauro Vogel, the co-owner of MX Vogel.

“We are going together for another season in the new NASCAR Brasil project in search of good results. I believe that our rapport will be very important in this new challenge.”
