After taking a year of hiatus, Matthias Hauer will make his EuroNASCAR return in 2025 on a part-time basis.
Matthias Hauer has revealed his return with SpeedHouse Racing for the 2025 NASCAR Euro Series season. The German is set to be competing part-time with the French team. The car number for Hauer’s ride is still undetermined.
Hauer is the second driver to be signed by SpeedHouse for 2025. He follows the footsteps of 2017 Rookie Challenge champion Andreas Kuchelbacher, who confirmed his seat in October.
Hauer, a veteran of EuroNASCAR since 2018, took an absence from the 2024 season. While there’s no official confirmation to explain his absence, it’s very likely that this hiatus was caused by his busy work commitments.
The 51-year old driver works as a lawyer. His duties to bring justice have limited his opportunities to go racing, which is also why he only decided on a part-time campaign for 2025.
“I’m very happy to be driving for SpeedHouse again and grateful to my crew chief and friend Lucas Lasserre for allowing me to be a part of NASCAR again,” said Hauer to euronascar.com.
“I’m looking forward to working with my team and my teammates. We want to continue to improve and make the 2025 season a success.”
Despite not having driven an EuroNASCAR car since 2023, Hauer sets himself a big goal for 2025.
“My goal is to get back on the podium at the Legend Trophy and finish in the top-10 in the OPEN standings,” adds Hauer.
“It’s going to be tough, because the level is constantly rising and the series is becoming more and more demanding from a driving and technical point of view. I’m ready for the challenge and want to fight for every position.”
Hauer is a very integral part of Lucas Lasserre’s SpeedHouse Racing project. While Hauer made his EuroNASCAR debut with CAAL Racing in 2018, they’ve already entered a partnership the year before.
When SpeedHouse entered EuroNASCAR in 2019, Hauer was trusted as one of the drivers chosen to race their No. 64 car. The German stayed with the team ever since, becoming an key member of SpeedHouse’s EuroNASCAR OPEN efforts.
“I’m very pleased to confirm that Matthias Hauer will be driving for SpeedHouse in the 2025 OPEN season,” said Lasserre on Hauer’s return.
“Matt is part of the SpeedHouse family and a close friend of mine. He has been with us since the formation of the team in 2017. It’s an honor to have him back. He will be competitive in the OPEN division and be ready to fight for top positions.”
