Federico Monti was crowned as the 2024 EuroNASCAR Club Challenge champion after he overhauled an 18-point deficit to Reza Sardeha in the Finals at Zolder.

A sweep at Circuit Zolder gave Federico Monti the opportunity to clinch his first EuroNASCAR Club Challenge championship title at the 2024 EuroNASCAR Finals.

Monti entered the season finale with an 18-point deficit to Race Planet Team Bleekemolen’s Reza Sardeha, but the Italian was able to overhaul that gap through his top finishing position in the two timed sessions.

The result proved to be special for Monti, who reminisced the fact that he made his Club Challenge debut at Zolder in 2020.

“I feel surreal, because everything started from here in 2020,” said Monti, who also took the first title for his team Academy Motorsport. “My first race, my first win was here and now I became champion in Zolder, I’m so fucking happy!

“I had all the battles with these great guys and I have to thank everyone from my team. It’s been unbelievable and I have to say that I’m feeling very good.”

Sardeha fought hard to keep hold of the lead, but he ultimately came up short. Sardeha’s penalty time was just 3 and 0.3 seconds behind Monti, but it was only enough for fourth and third in the respective sessions.

The total points that Sardeha received was only enough for a third place finish behind SpeedHouse Racing’s Dani Briz, but the Iranian-born Dutchman still came home second in the overall standings with 504 points – eight behind Monti.

Kelvin Hassell and Andreas Kuchelbacher completed the top-5 ahead of Gordon Barnes, who had a tough time at Zolder. Machine issues once again hindered the Brit, leaving him last in the classification.

Kuchelbacher ended his season in third overall with 466 points. Barnes and Hassell followed with Briz in sixth. The Spaniard’s absence from Vallelunga put him out of the contention before the Playoffs had even begun.

Edouard Fatio was seventh, having not taken part in Club Challenge despite being present at Zolder. Costa ultimately didn’t compete and was eighth in the final standings.

Yann Schar, Vanessa Neumann, Mario Buscemi and Franck Violas completed the championship results, each only making a single appearance in the 2024 season.
