Paolo Valeri wants Vict Motorsport to “have a say” in the results on his debut round as an EuroNASCAR PRO driver at Vallelunga’s American Festival of Rome.

Paolo Valeri is anticipating an exciting first race as an EuroNASCAR PRO driver in the series, stating that he wants Vict Motorsport to “have a say” in the results for their home race at Vallelunga.

Valeri, a three-year veteran of EuroNASCAR 2, is set to race Vict’s No. 9 Chevrolet Camaro. Vict’s second entry was last seen during the 2023 season finale at Zolder, driven by Mario Ercoli in both classes.

This will also be the first time Valeri and Dario Caso will race against each other in EuroNASCAR’s top division. Valeri will be accompanied by Valerio Marzi, who also makes his first start of the year in the No. 9 Camaro.

“The second round of the 2024 NASCAR Whelen Euro Series is held at the Autodromo Vallelunga “Piero Taruffi”, the home track for the two Speed Motor drivers that once again will compete this year in their category: Dario Caso and Paolo Valeri, assisted by the Vict Motorsport team,” announced Scuderia Speed Motor on 16 May.

“There is, however, a substantial difference from what happened in past editions. If Caso and Valeri had shared the same car before since they competed in different categories, this time they would be teammates and at the same time opponents at the wheel of two separate 5.7 liter Chevrolet Camaro’s.”

“Valeri has climbed to the PRO division – also competing in the Challenger [Trophy] – and therefore, Vallelunga will be his debut in the new and more prestigious division.”

“Caso has already participated last month in the opening round of the year at the Valencia circuit in car number 8, while Valeri drives number 9.”

Valeri had been competing in EuroNASCAR 2 for the past three seasons, scoring a total of five top-10 finishes with a best championship finish of 16th on his debut year in 2021.

The 45-year old from Foligno understands that moving to the top class carries its own set of expectations, but he is confident that he can make a great impression in the home race for both himself and Vict Motorsport.

“There is undoubtedly anticipation on my part for this new experience among Nascar’s PRO’s,” said Valeri. “Since this takes place at Vallelunga, on a circuit where both Caso and I have always been competitive, we will try to have our say this time as well.”
