A last-minute change for Granducato Speed saw the confirmation of Mario Buscemi’s plan to compete in both EuroNASCAR PRO and Club Challenge at Vallelunga.
Granducato Speed makes a last-minute change to its Vallelunga driver roster after the Italian team announced that Mario Buscemi, who had been signed to compete in EuroNASCAR PRO, will also race the No. 90 Chevrolet in EuroNASCAR Club Challenge.
The decision to have Buscemi compete in Club Challenge meant that Granducato’s test driver Thomas Papa will have to wait for at least Most before he can make his official debut in the sport.

“We are ready to kick off this second race weekend of the 2024 NASCAR Whelen Euro Series championship,” announced Granducato.
“The Granducato Speed team is happy to announce that our driver Mario Buscemi, in addition to the previously announced participation in the category PRO #90, this morning, will also take part in the lineup in the CLUB #90 category.”
“Enthusiastic for this further participation, we at Granducato Speed would like to further thank Buscemi for his further trust, guaranteeing the maximum commitment from our team.”

Buscemi will be the first driver to race in both EuroNASCAR PRO and Club Challenge since Federico Monti, who was a regular ENPRO and Club Challenge interloper in the 2021 and 2022 seasons.
Both Buscemi and Monti will join a field of ten cars that are entered in the regularity-based division of EuroNASCAR this weekend. Gordon Barnes currently leads the Club Challenge standings after his victory in the opening round at Valencia.
