V8 Thunder Cars boss Anders Conradzon expects the star-studded 2024 season to be the “toughest championship to win” in Sweden ahead of the opening round at Anderstorp.
Less than a month is left before the 2024 V8 Thunder Cars season starts at Anderstorp Raceway on 3-4 May. As of right now, twenty drivers have announced their plans to compete – equaling the number of total participants from last year.
This increase in entry count was welcomed by V8TC’s boss Anders Conradzon, who expects the 2024 season to be “toughest championship to win” in Sweden.

“It is great that we have managed to gather so many good participants for the start [at Anderstorp] and V8 Thunder Cars could be the toughest racing championship to win in Sweden this year,” said Conradzon in an official press release.
“We have a wider selection of top drivers and a lot of fast young talent filling in from the back. I believe that the juniors will advance their positions significantly.”

Reigning champion Andreas Nilsson is back behind the wheel of Racebil.se’s No. 21 Chevrolet Camaro as does runner-up Tommie Eliasson, who continues to drive Team Brorsson’s No. 52 Chevrolet Camaro.
Two veteran drivers, team owners and proven race winners, Team Brorsson’s Conny Brorsson and Team Pampas’ Christoffer Bergström, also remain in the series with the No. 22 Gavatec Ford Mustang and the older-gen No. 42 Ford Mustang respectively.
Micke Nyman, the replacement of Alexander Graff at Memphis Racing following Graff’s full-time departure to EuroNASCAR, is also on the grid with his self-owned No. 29 Nyman Racing car.

Another top contender that will enter the 2024 season is Dennis Strandberg, who makes his return to the championship with Snake Pit Garage – the same team that he raced on his 2020 and 2021 title campaigns.
“Dennis and Christoffer will really contribute to raise the championship’s prestige by a couple of notches,” adds Conradzon. “There are several interesting names that could very well challenge for the absolute top and this means that we are facing a very exciting championship this year.”

For the young talents, Linus Holgersson is back to defend his Junior Trophy crown with LPH Motorsport’s No. 33 Bergs Fegen Chevrolet Camaro.
There’s also drivers such as V8TC Young Driver Programme alumnus Isac Aronsson, Formula Nordic graduate Jonathan Engström and Gustav Berggren, who had made two starts in 2021.

Another one to watch is Julia Eliasson, the sole female driver in the series. She’ll continue to race the No. 12 Olé Transporter/Tundo Schakt Chevrolet Camaro, entered under her own team Julia Eliasson Motorsport.
“Our investment in a junior championship has really paid off,” notes Conradzon on their up-and-coming talents.
“With our development program V8TC Young Driver Programme, we have made it possible for young talents to step into the class and quickly establish themselves and we hope to attract even more young people to take the step to V8 Thunder Cars in the future.”
“With a bit of luck, we will have more than twenty cars on the starting line in Anderstorp. There are several drivers who are working hard behind the scenes to get the absolute last things needed to be able to start and we will do everything to help them. This is going to be an exciting season!”
