Vladimiros Tziortzis will continue to race with Academy Motorsport after the Cypriot announced his plan to race for the EuroNASCAR PRO title in the 2024 season.

Vladimiros Tziortzis will be continuing his participation in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series after it was officially announced yesterday that he is staying with the No. 5 Academy Motorsport team for the 2024 EuroNASCAR season.

The Cypriot made a huge impression to both the industry and fans alike with his performances in the 2023 season, which saw highlights such as a pole position sweep in Valencia and scoring five race wins – four of them are in a row – in EuroNASCAR 2.

Tziortzis also came narrowly short from the title in EuroNASCAR 2 as a late string of misfortunes and mechanical problems allowed Paul Jouffreau to catch up and ultimately beat him for the championship, something that he emphasizes as the most important thing to remedy in 2024.

“I want to thank all the guys at Academy / Alex Caffi Motorsport for believing in me,” said the Nicosian driver to euronascar.com. “We had a tough end to the 2023 season for the whole team due to unexpected technical problems, but I see the potential of the team and we proved this year that we have a strong combination.”

“Our main goal now is to focus on the 2024 season and solve all the problems we had in the last three events that cost us the EuroNASCAR 2 title. I’m aiming for a top-5 finish in EuroNASCAR PRO and to win the team championship.”

Despite declaring his intention to focus on EuroNASCAR PRO, Tziortzis is not crossing out the possibility to do the double duty again. Reports from Cypriot publisher Autokinito revealed that he is ready to do so in 2024 if Academy doesn’t find a driver to fill the EuroNASCAR 2 seat of the No. 5 car.

“It’s certainly tiring, but we’ve proved we can cope in both classes as long as there are no mechanical problems,” said Tziortzis on the prospect of double duty to Autokinito’s Petros Soutzis.

Tziortzis is set for his fifth season with the Academy team, which he joined on his debut season in 2020 back when the team – under the Alex Caffi Motorsport guise – was still fully owned by ex-Formula One driver Alex Caffi.

He is an integral part of Academy’s transformation from also-ran to proven race winners as he led the Monegasque-Italian team to six victories and two top-3 championship finishes in the past three seasons.

He admitted that it has been difficult for him to deal with the increased pressure, but he’s committed to bring Academy to the next level by making a challenge for the title in EuroNASCAR PRO.

“We have to go into the new season on the right track and put it all together,” explained the 26-year old driver. “I’m sure that every member of the team will do that and I will also maximize everything I have.”

“We are ready to take what we deserve as a top organization in EuroNASCAR. It hasn’t been easy for me mentally to deal with the situation, but on the other hand the team and I have proven that we have the pure pace to compete at the front.”

“I thank Federico Monti, Alex Caffi, Stefano Bacci and all the mechanics and other members for having me back in their car. I will do my best to represent this great team and the goal is to win the EuroNASCAR PRO Championship and the team championship.”
