EuroLegend Cup, the all-European legends car championship supporting EuroNASCAR, will not race at Oschersleben after DMSB did not approve legends cars to race in Germany.
EuroLegend Cup, the all-European legends car championship that has been acting as the primary support event for the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series in the 2023 season, sadly will not race at this weekend’s NASCAR GP Germany.
The cancellation of EuroLegend Cup’s round at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben was done because of a decision made by Germany’s motor racing governing body Deutscher Motor Sport Bund (DMSB).
DMSB has elected to not approve the legends car to race in the country, forcing EuroLegend Cup organizers GP2EMME to make the decision to cancel the Oschersleben round altogether.

“Due to the decision of the DMSB, EuroLegend Cup will not be able to race at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben,” announced the series yesterday. “DMSB, Deutscher Motor Sport Bund, decides that the Legend Cars are not approved to race on German racetracks, so with regret we inform you of the cancellation of the date for the EuroLegend Cup.”
“GP2EMME has already started the process for the recognition of the legends in Germany, but unfortunately the timing has decreed the cancellation of the date for this first EuroLegend Cup season.”
“The drivers regret this missed opportunity, but the experience in the EuroLegend Cup has always given great satisfaction and fun and they are already ready and very fierce to face the next appointment.”

EuroLegend Cup will be back on 14-15 October for the season finale at Circuit Zolder. EuroNASCAR 2 championship contender Alberto Naska currently leads the championship after scoring 326 points in the first three rounds of the season.
Davide Gaggianesi is second, just four points behind the popular Italian YouTuber with Simone Giussani a further eight points behind in third place. Another EuroNASCAR 2 interloper Claudio Remigio Cappelli is currently sixth with 289 points to his name.
