ADAC GT4 star Dominique Schaak will be racing Bremotion’s No. 99 Chevrolet Camaro in the EuroNASCAR 2 class for next week’s NASCAR GP Germany at Oschersleben.

Bremotion will have an all-Germany driver line-up for the team’s first ever home race after the team officially announced Dominique Schaak as the driver of the No. 99 Bremotion Chevrolet Camaro in the EuroNASCAR 2 class on next week’s NASCAR GP Germany.

While Bremotion and NASCAR Whelen Euro Series officially announced his participation on 15 September 2023, Schaak had previously announced his deal with Bremotion on 29 August.

That deal was briefly put into jeopardy after the 32-year old driver had a massive accident in the latest ADAC GT4 Germany round at Sachsenring. Thankfully, Schaak was uninjured and will be able to compete next week.

“NASCAR has always fascinated me,” said the German to euronascar.com. “This is still real racing. Driving a NASCAR car is a childhood dream come true. I have been racing since 1999, but I always dreamed of competing in a NASCAR race. In the past, that was not even possible in Europe.”

Born on 20 September 1990, Schaak began his motorsport career with karting in 1999. After racing in various karting championships across Germany for five years, Schaak made the move to Formula Renault 1.6 in 2005 before he returned to karting for the next two years due to difficulties with securing the necessary funding needed.

Starting in 2008 he continued his career in touring cars, racing in championships such as ADAC Logan Cup, ADAC Chevrolet Cup and ADAC Procar Series. Schaak got his first taste in GT racing in 2018 and made the full-time switch to GT in 2020 where he continues to compete to this day.

His scheduled EuroNASCAR outing at Oschersleben will be his first competitive outing in stock car racing. He had tested Bremotion’s Camaro in a private test at Oschersleben, whereupon he immediately noticed how different the car is compared to the GT4 cars that he normally raced.

“It is, of course, something entirely different from the Mercedes AMG GT4 I drive in GT4 Germany,” notes Schaak in his official website. Everything seems more powerful and robust. You have to really work in the NASCAR car to even get to the limit.”

“During the test in Oschersleben I immediately noticed: “This is real racing”. I had to completely adjust my driving style and didn’t have time to do a proper performance test. I’m being thrown in at the deep end, if you can put it that way.”

With only a limited time testing the EuroNASCAR stock cars, Schaak will not give himself a high expectation to achieve for next week’s races at Oschersleben.

“My goals are not big,” adds the driver from Magdeburg. “I simply lack the experience in NASCAR. The other drivers have an enormous advantage there. I want to improve over the weekend, put on a good show and enjoy the opportunity to participate.”

“I would also like to thank Bremotion for the confidence they have shown in me. Of course I don’t want to finish last. Nevertheless, I have a small home advantage and no matter how the weekend ends, my dream has come true and it will be done in front of a home audience.”
