Nick Strickler has revealed that he will not compete in the second half of the 2023 EuroNASCAR season, with Racingfuel Motorsport looking “likely” to miss the round at Most.

There will be no American driver in the second half of the 2023 EuroNASCAR season as Nick Strickler, the EuroNASCAR 2 driver of Racingfuel Motorsport’s No. 94 Chevrolet Camaro, is withdrawing his entry for the rest of the year.

The 25-year old driver from Danville, California made the announcement on his Instagram account. Strickler also opens up on how life in Europe has been, revealing that he found it difficult to find a place to live in Zurich – the city where Racingfuel is based.

“Go fast, take chances” opens the American driver. “At the beginning of 2023 I made plans to move overseas to race in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series. I attempted to move to Zurich, Switzerland to be close to the team I would be driving with for the season but quickly realized how difficult it is to find housing in Zurich.”

“I found my living out of a backpack, doing shower laundry, staying with friends and training anyway I could for my next races. Despite the move not going as planned, I gave my all everyday and saw improvements in my racing as well as my disposition. Unfortunately, in my last race I was wrecked by another driver.”

Strickler closes his statement by saying his thanks to everyone who has supported his journey in EuroNASCAR. He is aiming to go back to racing as soon as possible.

“I have truly loved every second of this year and can’t thank my friends and family enough for all the support they have given me on this journey,” continues Strickler.

“Also I will be forever grateful for my second family at Racingfuel Motorsport for allowing me the opportunity to drive their race car this year and letting me be a part of the family. I look forward to racing again as soon as possible.”

This is a major blow to Racingfuel Motorsport, compounding the issues that the team had after Strickler’s crash at Vallelunga. The incident completely destroyed the chassis that Racingfuel used as the No. 94 Chevrolet Camaro and as reported by Leadlap’s André Wiegold, the Swiss team is “not likely” to compete at Most as a result.

“We are just sorting ourselves out, because we are very much under pressure due to the situation,” says Racingfuel team boss Ferruccio Finkbohner. Leadlap reports that the team is not closing out possibilities of returning for the last two rounds at Oschersleben and Zolder.
