After reaching an agreement with Mattel, Disney and Pixar’s Cars, a life-sized model of Lightning McQueen will be displayed on American SpeedFest 10 at Brands Hatch next month.

Another new spectacle has been added to the American SpeedFest 10, Powered by Lucas Oil programme following the announcement that a life-sized Lightning McQueen model will be displayed at the SpeedFest on 17-18 June.

Lightning McQueen’s appearance at SpeedFest 10, which is scheduled to be his first appearance in the event since 2016’s SpeedFest IV, came after Brands Hatch and MotorSport Vision reached an agreement with Mattel, Disney, and Pixar’s Cars to have Lightning displayed as part of The Walt Disney Company’s 100th anniversary celebration.

“KA-CHOW! In partnership with Mattel, Disney and Pixar Cars returns to American SpeedFest with a life-size Lightning McQueen model as part of Disney’s 100th Anniversary celebrations!” announced Brands Hatch on their official release.

“Together, Mattel and Disney Pixar’s Cars will return to American SpeedFest event on the 17/18 June at Brands Hatch for the first time since 2016 with a life-size model inspired by Lightning McQueen.”

The announcement, which was made on 25 May, came just a day after Brands Hatch announced that NASCAR’s Garage 56 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 racer will be displayed at SpeedFest 10 just a week after its outing in the 24 Hours of Le Mans as part of NASCAR’s celebration of their 75th anniversary.

Both the Garage 56 Camaro and the life-sized Lightning McQueen model will be displayed in a dedicated display area on the SpeedFest’s fan zone, allowing fans that made the trip to Brands Hatch to take a closer look at the beautiful showcases.

“The appearance of the animated silver screen icon model will be a key attraction of the American SpeedFest 10 off-track programme, appearing in a dedicated display area, allowing you to immerse yourself in a bit of Disney and Pixar magic with photo opportunities and engagement as part of the Disney100 celebrations,” as announced on the official release.

“Lightning McQueen is portrayed on screen as a stock car racer, and his real life counterparts will be in action throughout the SpeedFest event in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series – the only officially sanctioned race series of its kind on this side of the Atlantic.”
