Racing in NASCAR has always been part of Rubén García Jr.’s racing career so far. Achieving success in the NASCAR Stock V6 Series – Mexico Series’ second-tier NASCAR series and the precursor of the current NASCAR FedEx Challenge Series, he made his way to the main Mexico Series in 2012 and would begin to challenge for the title in the following year.
His successes in the Mexico Series has earned the recognition of NASCAR’s Drive to Diversity program, and when the Mexico Series had a one-year hiatus in 2016, he began to race in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series for Rev Racing. García achieved his biggest success last year when he won the Mexico Series title for the second time in his career as well as scoring his first victories in the American soil when he won 2 K&N East races that year, including one at the season-finale race at Dover.
This year, in addition to his commitments in both K&N East and Mexico Series, García will made a trip to Europe as part of NASCAR Home Tracks’ driver swap program. García will made an one-off appearance in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series, driving the No. 1 NASCAR PEAK Mexico Series / Canel’s / HDI Seguros Ford Mustang for Alex Caffi Motorsport at the season-opening race at Valencia.
