Before joining the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series, Pierluigi Veronesi is mostly known for the successes that he has achieved in junior formula racing categories in his home country of Italy as well as being an official Lamborghini test driver since 2010. He joined Euro Series in 2018 driving for BVR Motorsport’s No. 27 car in the Elite 2 class, where he had an up and down season where he either finished in the Top 10 during the race or had problems and eventually retiring from the race.

He stayed with the No. 27 Knauf / Carpanelli Ford Mustang entry for the 2019 season, originally competing under the Alex Caffi Motorsport banner before the team’s entry was sold to CAAL Racing in between the rounds at Brands Hatch and Most.
