Profile:
Lasse Sørensen began his racing career in karting before moving up to the open wheel junior formula racing in 2012. Winning the French F4 Championship in 2014, Sørensen then switched to touring car racing in 2016 as he began to compete in the Danish Thundersport Championship late in the season. His first full-season in the DTC the following year would saw him becoming the champion ahead of Jan Magnussen before finishing second to Kasper H. Jensen in his title defense season in 2018.
In 2019, he made a switch to stock car racing as he was a late addition to the Dexwet-DF1 Racing. With Advait Deodhar leaving to drove for other teams, Sørensen was signed by the team during the Valencia race week to replace the Indian in the No. 66 Dexwet Chevrolet Camaro starting from Franciacorta. What would follow was quite simply unbelievable: He shockingly won his debut race after Andre Castro suffered problems late in the race before becoming the first Euro Series driver to win from last on the grid at Brands Hatch.
All of this proved to be enough for Dexwet-DF1 Racing to put him in the double duty task in the No. 66 team at Brands Hatch after Christophe Bouchut left the team at Franciacorta due to personal reasons. His success at Franciacorta would also saw his DTC sponsor Flexlease.nu follow him to the Euro Series, and he could very well be a future NASCAR superstar in the making if he can continue the excellent form that he had showed so far.
