Primarily competing in Legend cars in his home country of Finland, Jesse Vartiainen made his debut in stock car racing in 2018 when he joined Alex Caffi Motorsport to drive the team’s No. 1 Mustang at Hockenheim. Vartiainen impressed in his debut with him scoring an impressive sixth place finish in the Sunday race as well as grabbing home the bonus championship points for gaining the most places during the race. This impressive performance was enough for Alex Caffi to sign him full-time, as Vartiainen will replace Kenko Miura in the team’s No. 2 La Leonessa Chevrolet Camaro in the Elite 2 class for the 2019 season .
