EuroNASCAR OPEN – Pole Sitters by Age
The all-time table for the youngest and oldest pole sitting drivers in EuroNASCAR’s second division, EuroNASCAR OPEN.
In NASCAR Euro Series, Europe’s premier championship of stock car racing, it is important for drivers and teams to score a pole position to maximize their chances of winning a race.
A total of 46 different drivers and 23 different teams have scored a Pole Position in EuroNASCAR OPEN since the first season of official NASCAR sanctioning in 2012.
Listed below are the all-time table for EuroNASCAR OPEN’s youngest and oldest pole sitters. The all-time list excludes races that are not considered as part of the official championship calendar, such as the 2012 exhibition race at Tours and the two Trofeo Angelo Caffi tournaments.
NOTE : The list shown below are correct as of the end of the 2024 EuroNASCAR Finals at Circuit Zolder. Drivers shown in “bold” are drivers that have competed in at least one (1) EuroNASCAR OPEN race of the 2024 NASCAR Whelen Euro Series season.
NOTE 2 : Philippe Marie, the pole sitter for Race 1 of the 2012 Brands Hatch 200, is excluded from the list because his birthday date is unknown.

YOUNGEST POLE SITTERS
Thomas Ferrando is the youngest pole sitter in EuroNASCAR OPEN. Jouffreau was 17 years and8 days old when he took pole position for Race 1 of the 2014 Nürburgring 200.
Ferrando beat the previous record set by Neal van Vaerenbergh, who was 17 years and 291 days old when he took pole position at the 2014 Valencia NASCAR Fest.

OLDEST POLE SITTERS
Eric Quintal is the oldest pole sitter in EuroNASCAR OPEN. Villeneuve was 48 years and 105 days old when he took pole position in Race 2 of the 2012 Valencia SemiFinals.
Because that race was an Endurance race, there’s an unique caveat from Quintal’s achievement. Teammate Ander Vilariño finished first in the EuroNASCAR PRO half of the race, so Quintal got his pole position from the results that Vilariño had achieved.
Quintal beat the previous record set by Gerald Cormon, who was 38 years and 31 days old when he took his only pole position at the 2012 Spa 200.
