Profile:

Thomas Krasonis, Greece’s first NASCAR driver, started his career at the age of 5 in karting before he made his car racing debut in 2016 through his participation in the Junior Saloon Car Championship in the UK. After 2 years in JSCC, Krasonis moved to Italy to race in the Mini Challenge Italy where he had a successful year with numerous podiums and a fourth place finish in the championship on his debut season in 2018.

Krasonis moved from Mini Challenge Italy to the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series in 2019 after Alex Caffi, who fielded a team in the Mini Challenge, was impressed by Krasonis’ performance and signed him to become the driver of Alex Caffi Motorsport’s No. 1 La Leonessa Ford Mustang in the Elite 2 class.

Krasonis didn’t race in 2020 because of the pandemic, but he returned to EuroNASCAR in 2021 after he was signed by Academy Motorsport – the successor of Alex Caffi Motorsport. After a full season in EuroNASCAR’s junior division, Academy moved him to the top class in 2022 as the Greek driver will drive Academy’s No. 1 Ford Mustang on a full-time basis.
