Profile:

A daughter from a teacher in her hometown Barão de Cocais, Gabriela Arantes Prado took part in the 2015 NASCAR Whelen Euro Series season as the EuroNASCAR 2 driver of Record News Racing, a Brazilian race team that was formed and sponsored by Brazil’s first 24-hour free-to-air terrestrial news channel Record News.

One of the three female drivers who competed full-time in EuroNASCAR 2 that year, Prado struggled in comparison to her compatriots as she regularly found herself at the back of the field in the 11 races that she started.

She was able to finish second in the Gentleman Trophy sub-classification however, finishing just nine points behind Jerry de Weerdt in the battle to become the final champion of the sub-classification.

Prado returned to Brazil after Record News Racing shut down at the end of the 2015 season. Prado tested a Formula Vee car in 2018 and competed in the 2019 Copa Shell HB20 championship’s Super division, racing the same car number that she carried during her stint in EuroNASCAR.
