Pieter Cuypers of Alvespers.com provides exclusive insight on Alvespers.com’s role in providing onboard cameras to EuroNASCAR for the 2025 Finals at Circuit Zolder.

The 2025 EuroNASCAR Finals at Circuit Zolder marked a momentous occasion for NASCAR Euro Series. The Finals broadcast brought back live onboard cameras for the first time since the 2021 NASCAR GP Czech Republic at Autodrom Most.

Two live onboard cameras were used in the Finals. One was given to PK Carsport, who installed it in their Thomas Krasonis’ championship winning No. 13 Costamare Inc. Camaro.

The other camera was given to Rette Jones Racing’s No. 30 Port City Racecars / Mirkaaefenauto.lu Ford Mustang, driven by its regular drivers Liam Hezemans and Gil Linster.

Its reintroduction was positively met by drivers, teams and fans alike. It not only gave viewers closer access to the battles that Krasonis, Liam and Linster were involved in, but it also provided a better view to sectors where Zolder’s cameras had difficulties to reach.

All of this was made possible thanks to Pieter Cuypers and his team at Alvespers.com, who announced their key role in providing the onboard cameras through a social media post published on 14 October 2025.

Cuypers credited Gil and his father Armand, who were introduced to Alvespers.com in January this year.

Seeing the potential of his cameras, the Linster’s worked together with Cuypers to bring Alvespers.com cameras to a global scale via EuroNASCAR, thereby setting the foundation for a bigger reach to the Belgian upstart.

But how did this become a reality? Through this exclusive interview with Cuypers, World of EuroNASCAR is able to provide fans with an exclusive insight on Alvespers.com’s project, his noble ambitions and what the EuroNASCAR collaboration means for its future.

Reza Maulana: Let’s start from the beginning then. What is Alvespers.com and how would you describe your company to those who don’t know about them?

Pieter Cuypers: “Alvespers.com is a Belgian company focused on onboard livestreaming and motorsport technology. We design and build complete camera systems that allow teams and organizers to stream live footage directly from inside the car.”

“Everything, from the 3D-printed mounts to the electronics, is made in-house. Our goal is simple: bring fans closer to the race and make live motorsport coverage more exciting and reliable.”

RM: That’s amazing to hear, especially with the fact that everything is made in-house. When did you start working on Alvespers.com and what motivates you in creating the company?

PC: “Actually it all started as a “just for fun” project with the onboard livestream cameras. In the 2023 24 Hours of Zolder, I saw that the big teams were using onboard cams, but the prices were unaffordable for most small teams.”

“So I tinkered with a friend to make something similar in our own team’s car. My motivation in creating the company is to always do better and improve our systems.”

RM: It’s great that your cameras have helped smaller teams to get access to onboard cameras that used to be out of their reach. Is it primarily used for Zolder events like Belcar, or has it been used elsewhere prior to EuroNASCAR’s usage in the 2025 Finals?

PC: “We tested them already during trackdays in Zandvoort and Zolder. The difference of the locations is ideal to test the latency because we stay depending on the local 4G/5G networks.”

“We’ve managed to put them in a few cars during the 2CV/C1 Spa 24 Hours last year and this year. Of course, it was also used in Belcar and 24 Hours of Zolder we did before installing them in EuroNASCAR.”

RM: Right on cue with the EuroNASCAR mention, as my next question is about the collaboration. How and when did the collaboration between Alvespers.com and NASCAR Euro Series come to be?

PC: “In January this year, a friend of mine introduced me to Gil & Armand Linster. They wanted me to show them my early prototype and the possibilities of it.”

“On one Sunday, we met in a restaurant in Zolder, sat together, talked the whole afternoon about the possibilities and options that we could offer to EuroNASCAR.”

“For the first round in Valencia, Gil invited me to come over to Valencia to introduce the system to Mr. Joe Balash [EuroNASCAR’s Sporting and Technical Director]. I’ve already made a lot of adjustments to the system before I gave it to Joe.”

“Unfortunately because there was no written agreement, they were not tested then. But later on Joe inspected the system for its strength and gave his “yes” to test it in the EuroNASCAR Finals.”

RM: Very interesting, so this project has been in the works since the start of the year. I imagine there must be a feeling of relief when the written agreement was agreed for the Finals in Zolder.

PC: “Yes, of course, but the true feeling of relief was actually on Sunday evening! It was stressful during development because a new problem always appeared in testing. Overheating, vibrations, power supply, network failures…”

“I needed to have the right conditions to test it and solve it. But, I was prepared and confident that I had fixed all issues before installing the system in the No. 13 Krasonis car and No. 30 Hezemans/Linster car.”

RM: I assume that the direct tests with EuroNASCAR, including the “crash test” with the No. 13 Krasonis car when it crashed on Sunday’s PRO race, helped a lot to improve your product for the future?

PC: “Of course! It proved that the system is ready for making its final steps in prototyping and it’s almost “market” ready. You can do stress tests and smash the hardware as hard as you can on the ground. But now the test was for real.”

“Compare it with your phone where they tested it all the way, but drop yours on the ground and you can be sure that for 99% chance, your screen breaks apart.”

RM: Yes, the tests done in Zolder showcases the durability of your devices! It can only be topped off if your camera is installed in the No. 33 [of Giorgio Maggi] when it had that monster incident.
For the next question I want to cover, how is the reception from the NASCAR Euro Series paddock to your onboard cameras when they first saw it in action?

PC: “I think they were surprised by the very small, tiny cams. The complete weight of the whole system is about 860 grams, and that’s including the batteries.”

“Both PK Carsport and Rette Jones gave me good technical support also because I didn’t know exactly where to position the cams without disturbing the driver’s view. Also, the mechanics should not be interrupted during their work by a camera.”

“I’ve also seen during the livestream on YouTube that some fans were happy to see some onboard footage again. It was also nice to see Krasonis celebrating in his car his championship victory.”

“Also, I’m sure it wouldn’t have survived in the No. 33 because of the damage it sustained!”

RM: Ahaha yeah, that’s likely the case. But it’s definitely great to see the camera capture a lot of moments!
Now for the final question. Are there plans for further collaboration between Alvespers.com and NASCAR Euro Series for the future, and will Alvespers.com also look for opportunities to work with other series once the cameras are ready to be sold on the market?

PC: “There are plans in the pipeline for further collaboration between Alvespers.com and EuroNASCAR. But, we first have to do a review of the test in Zolder with both parties.”

“Alvespers.com is also looking for opportunities with other series and we have some opportunities to collaborate also with private teams. However, we shall first focus on EuroNASCAR and work on the final details and adjustments on our onboards!”
