The screening of Ulysse Delsaux’s documentary film “Ulysse” at Cinematic Motor Fest was positively reviewed by the general audience, media and critics alike.

“I would like this film to make people understand that human values are the most important thing.”

That’s the message that 2018 EuroNASCAR OPEN champion Ulysse Delsaux wants to deliver with his documentary film “Ulysse” during its screening at the 2025 Cinematic Motor Fest on 15 November.

“Ulysse” received its first screening outside of France at this year’s Cinematic Motor Fest. It was nominated as one of the three films to be featured, alongside Stefano Mordini’s “Race for Glory: Audi vs Lancia” and DreamWorks’ “Turbo”

“Ulysse” tells the story of how Delsaux battled his high-functioning autism by finding a home in motorsport, which opened his path to become a champion in the NASCAR Euro Series.

The Frenchman was present at Cinematic Motor Fest as the main host of the screening. He was joined by the film director Arthur Sauvadon and his SpeedHouse teammate Arianna Casoli, the latter playing a major part in allowing “Ulysse” to be screened at Cinematic Motor Fest.

The screening itself was a success, as “Ulysse” managed to impress and capture the hearts of both the general audience and critics alike.

Italian journalist Alberto Ferrari reported on an Italian newspaper that “the driver’s statement sparked endless applause, a testament to the power and passion that the film was conveyed to the audience.”

In his report, Giuseppe Piazzolla from Moda e Motori Magazine wrote that the film “told the story of a young man who found the most authentic language to express who he is in the sound of engines.”

Both Ferrari and Piazzolla also gave positive reviews, with Ferrari writing that “the values embodied by Delsaux, his technicians, his family and Casoli perfectly encapsulates the message that the Cinematic Motor Fest wanted to convey.

Piazzolla wrote that the documentary “will surprise and unsettle you”, noting that people will be touched by “the story of a young man who found the most authentic language to express who he is in the sound of engines.”

He added that “Ulysse” is a film “that speaks to not only motorsports fans, but also to those who have never followed a race by demonstrating how motorsport can be a tool for social inclusion, personal discovery, and transformation.”

They also gave their credits to Arthur Sauvadon, the director for “Ulysse”. Piazzolla wrote that Sauvadon “constructs a narrative that will teach the audience on how autism has never been an obstacle, but an integral part of his identity.

Ferrari praised Sauvadon for “delicately and decisively telling a story of growth, resilience and determination to an audience that remained enchanted after the screening.”

Delsaux expressed his gratitude to the Italian race fans, who positively welcomed his story as told through his documentary film.

The Frenchman hopes that his documentary will allow children facing a similar disability as himself to follow their dreams, adding to the 28-year old’s hopes that the film will help people understand the importance of human values.

“Everything is possible when you’re surrounded by people who believe in you and when you follow your passion with determination,” Delsaux said during the screening.

“I would like this film to make people understand that human values are the most important thing. Children, whatever their differences, have dreams that deserve to be followed to the end.”
