Andres Beers gave his exclusive insight on his debut NASCAR Euro Series season and how the experience will help his development for the future.
NASCAR Euro Series welcomed several newcomers to the grid in the 2025 season. One of which is Belgian driver Andres Beers, who made his first full-season campaign with Academy Motorsport in EuroNASCAR OPEN.
Beers stepped up to EuroNASCAR full-time after he gained experience in Belcar in 2024. He was trusted with driving the No. 1 IceFactory Europe Ford Mustang, accompanied by highly experienced teammates such as Claudio Remigio Cappelli, Federico Monti and Marc Goossens.
Beers finished his debut campaign in 14th position, scoring a total of four top-10 finishes and two Master Trophy podiums.
On paper, Beers’ results may seem a bit disappointing given the successes that fellow rookies Bruno Mulders and Sandro Tavartkiladze achieved in their respective debut years.
However, Beers’ championship results did not tell the whole story. Beers suffered from three retirements and also had a ninth place finish at Oschersleben taken away from him for failing post-race inspection.
Had things went his way, it is likely that Beers would finish inside the top-10 in the standings. In fact, he was only 35 points away from tenth place championship finisher Dominique Schaak, thereby underlining his potential on his very first season in the sport.
With Beers working hard to secure his spot in the series for next year, World of EuroNASCAR received the opportunity to have an interview with Beers that gave additional insight on the young Belgian’s maiden campaign and what it meant for him to be able to race in a prestigious international championship like the NASCAR Euro Series.
Reza Maulana: In your first season, you had a solid campaign and scored several top-10 finishes. Were you happy with the overall results or do you feel that you could have achieved more?
Andres Beers: “Looking back, I’m proud of what we achieved in my first season. With several top-10 finishes, two podiums and a solid pace throughout the year, we proved that we were on the right track.”
“Still, I know there was more potential. There were a few early weekends where mechanical issues or setup adjustments on the car cost us strong finishes, but that’s all part of the learning process in motorsport.”
“Every lap this year taught me something, be it about the car, race management and myself as a driver. So yes, I’m satisfied, but I also want much more.”
RM: Out of the 12 races you had this year, which one do you consider as your best race of the season?
AB: “Without a doubt, my home race in Zolder stands out. Both races that weekend felt like a real breakthrough for me. We had fair battles, good consistency and the pace to challenge the top drivers.”
“Unfortunately, in the first race we had problems with the ignition box. Racing in front of my home crowd, with the cheers of the Belgian fans, was great until my teammate caught up with me and I spun out, which meant I could forget about a podium place.”
“Nevertheless, with the fans in the background, it was a great feeling. That weekend gave me a lot of confidence because it showed that I can drive at the front when everything goes right.”
RM: You made your debut season with Academy Motorsport, a highly experienced team led by veteran figures such as Alex Caffi and Federico Monti. You also had EuroNASCAR OPEN race winner Claudio Remigio Cappelli as your teammate. How much has their knowledge helped you to learn and become a more complete driver?
AB: “The move to Academy Motorsport was a big step in my career. Working with people like Alex Caffi and Federico Monti, both of whom are incredibly experienced, gave me insights that you just can’t buy.”
“Alex helped me improve my racing skills and calmness behind the wheel. Federico and the engineers taught me how to read the car and adjust my driving style when the grip or balance changed.”
“I also learned a lot from my two teammates, Marc Goossens, who mentored me for the first two races, and Claudio Cappelli in car #5.”
“They have a lot of experience in the series and watching how they approach qualifying and the first few laps gave me a new perspective. The whole team was like a family, and that environment made it easier for me to grow throughout the season.”
RM: As part of EuroNASCAR, you get to experience not only new tracks and cars to race, but also activities such as the grid walk and parades that allows you to meet fans across Europe up close. How do you describe the experience of being able to do all of that in this season?
AB: “Every NASCAR circuit is an incredible challenge and a privilege to race on. Being able to compete there as a 17-year-old driver is something I’m extremely proud of.”
“One of the things that makes EuroNASCAR truly unique is the connection with the fans. The grid walks, autograph sessions and parades are incredible. You really feel like you’re part of a show that brings people closer to racing.”
“Meeting fans from all over Europe, especially children who dream of racing one day, motivates me every weekend. It reminds you why you do it. Not just for the results, but also for the passion and energy that surround this championship.”
RM: What’s your plan for the future? Would there be a chance to see you back in the EuroNASCAR grid and push for better results in 2026?
AB: “My main focus now is on preparing for 2026. I want to build on everything I’ve learned this year. Becoming more consistent, more aggressive at the right moments and achieving stronger results.”
“The goal is to return to EuroNASCAR with a clear objective: To finish regularly in the top 5 and aim for the podium.”
“At the same time, I am working on developing my experience in endurance racing. I also raced in the Belcar Endurance Championship and the 24 Hours of Zolder last year, which has really helped me to sharpen my concentration and race management skills.”
“In the long term, I want to develop into a complete driver capable of competing at the highest level of GT and endurance racing, and I see EuroNASCAR as a part of the starting point for that journey.”
“Finally, one of the best things about EuroNASCAR is the strong sense of community in the paddock. There’s a lot of interaction between teams and drivers, and many of the more experienced guys are open to sharing advice or helping younger drivers like me.”
“That feeling of togetherness is incredibly motivating. It pushes you to give 100% every weekend. Every setback becomes a lesson, and every lesson brings you one step closer to the front.”
“This NASCAR journey has also given me many great friendships that I’ll carry with me for a long time.”
“My first full year in EuroNASCAR was a very special season for me and I’m very happy to be able to share my experiences with you.”
