Alumitec Racing’s Valentino Gambarotto was happy to be in the fight for the top-10 positions during the 2025 NASCAR GP Germany weekend.

Italian EuroNASCAR OPEN rookie Valentino Gambarotto expressed his happiness about his performance in the 2025 NASCAR GP Germany through a post that he published in his social media accounts after the weekend.

Gambarotto is embarking on his debut season with Alumitec Racing. The 17-year old drifting prodigy branches out from his main category to gain experience in circuit racing via stock cars.

His EuroNASCAR OPEN journey has been challenging, with only two top-10 finishes to show so far. Two DNF’s and three finishes outside of the top-15 underlines Gambarotto’s difficult debut season.

The days leading up to Oschersleben seemingly continued this trend as the Italian was not able to properly train himself after being struck by a high fever.

“In the weeks leading up to it, I had a high fever and wasn’t able to train as much as I’d liked,” said Gambarotto.

Thankfully, Gambarotto was back at full health by the time the NASCAR GP Germany weekend rolled around.

He got off to a decent start in Friday Practice, finishing inside the top-10 in the combined times despite being 1.5 seconds slower than championship leader Thomas Krasonis.

Qualifying was tougher for Gambarotto as he slipped out of the top-10 positions. With Gambarotto stuck in the mid pack, he was not able to make plenty of moves forward and could only finish 12th despite being the seventh in the fastest lap charts.

This seventh was beneficial for Gambarotto’s Race 2, as it meant that he got the chance to fight for the top-10 positions. He dueled against drivers such as reigning EuroNASCAR OPEN champion Martin Doubek, who struggled for pace early on.

Unfortunately, mistakes and a five-second penalty for an unsafe rejoin meant that he ended up eleventh in the final results.

Despite this setback, Gambarotto remains pleased with his progress and is looking forward to giving his best in the season finale at Zolder.

“It’s a different weekend where I felt the car was more to my liking,” said Gambarotto. “It’s smoother to drive and that gave me plenty of confidence.”

“The pace was there and it was great to fight, even if a few mistakes led me to finish 12th in Race 1 and 11th in Race 2.”

“I managed to bring home two important races and a lot of experience. Now all that’s left is the final race in Zolder and I want to give it my all there. See you on the track!”
