PK Carsport is set to field entries in both the NASCAR Euro Series and the revived F4 German Championship for the 2027 racing season.

Multiple-time NASCAR Euro Series champion winning team PK Carsport is spreading their wings for 2027.

PK Carsport was announced on 6 October 2026 as one of the 14 teams that will compete in the revived F4 German Championship.

PK joins a star-studded roster that also featured teams such as established junior formula teams Van Amersfoort Racing and Jenzer Motorsport, touring-to-sportscar stalwart Comtoyou Racing ex-WEC entrant Vanwall Racing and Lando Norris’ LN4 Fusion.

“GEDLICH Racing is delighted to reveal an impressive, international field of competing teams for the 2027 F4 German Championship certified by FIA,” announced GEDLICH Racing, F4 German’s organizers on their official website.

“Two Belgian teams will compete, both of which have previously focused on GT and Touring Car competition. Comtoyou Racing and PK Carsport will both add a fascinating new chapter to their respective histories, with new F4 projects.”

This will mark PK Carsport’s first expansion to junior formulas since the 90’s, as well as their first open-wheel entry since 2011.

PK competed in the local Formula Renault and Opel Letus series in the mid-90’s before they joined forces with Azerti Motorsport’s R.S.C. Anderlecht Superleague Formula team in the 2010 season.

PK and Azerti’s collaboration was greatly successful. With Davide Rigon at the wheel, they all worked together to bring home the championship in what turned out to be Superleague Formula’s final full year before it folded after two rounds in 2011.

Speaking to Leadlap’s Andre Wiegold on 9 October, Anthony Kumpen stated that the decision to join F4 German was made through a combination of factors.

Their desire to take on a new challenge, Kumpen’s personal connection to the German motorsport scene, and his commitment to develop new talents helped him to make the push to join F4 German.

Kumpen also confirmed that the PK Carsport EuroNASCAR team will remain in full force for next year.

PK is currently in the fight for all three championships, with Vittorio Ghirelli and the #24 team currently leading the V8GP and Endurance Teams standings heading to the season finale at Zolder on 17-18 October.

“It’s a whole new challenge for us,” said Kumpen. “We’ve driven formula cars in the past, in the 1990s and early 2000s with the Formula Renault and the Opel Lotus series.”

“In 2010, we won the Superleague Formula in cooperation with Azerti – you know, the formula cars for the football clubs – with Davide Rigon for the Belgian football team R.S.C. Anderlecht. We also had Robert Doornbos with us at the time, who came to us fresh from Formula 1.”

“It’s been a long time since the formula cars, because we’ve spent a lot of time in GT sports and in NASCAR. It is therefore really nice to take on this new challenge and combine it with our NASCAR program. So we will be represented with the team again in NASCAR.”

“I’ve always liked German racing, because I started my own racing career in Formula Renault Germany at the time.”

“Germany has great racetracks and an excellent reputation in motorsport. The DTM is still attracting over 100,000 spectators to the track in some races, and Formula 4 will be part of the DTM weekends, which is fantastic.”

“In any case, it will be a busy winter for us to prepare everything so that the NASCAR and Formula 4 teams can work side by side. There will be different structures, but in the same building. Big challenges for next year, which we are very much looking forward to.”

“It’s also nice to work with young people and young drivers and to accompany them on their further career path. Who knows, maybe we’ll bring some of the stars from Formula 4 to NASCAR in the future, let’s see.”
