Kelvin Hassell and Yann Schär both announced their plans to rejoin EuroNASCAR Rookie Challenge and fight for the overall title in 2026.

Recent announcements over the past week saw two drivers confirm their plans to rejoin Rookie Challenge, NASCAR Euro Series’ regularity-based division.

Kelvin Hassell will make his return after one year of absence, while Yann Schär is set for his first Rookie Challenge appearance in three years with the announcements that were announced on 29 March and 1 April respectively.

Hassell will rejoin Bremotion to contest in his second Rookie Challenge season. The 48-year old from Eastbourne previously ran with the German team in 2024, finishing fifth overall with the No. 77 Chevrolet Camaro.

For 2026, Hassell is set to complete the No. 99 Chevrolet Camaro’s roster, joining Garrett Lowe and Dominique Schaak who had already announced their plans earlier in the off-season.

“I am looking forward to working with Bremotion once again,” said Hassell to nascar.eu. “I want to win this year’s Rookie Challenge!”

As for Schär, the Frenchman extends his long-time partnership with RDV Competition that began when Rookie Challenge was first inaugurated in 2017.

Schär last competed in 2023, competing in a one-off at the season opener in Valencia. The driver from Divonne-les-Bains will be sponsored by Secoreg Sarl and OFATEC SA for the upcoming season.

“I’m very happy to continue with RDV Competition for the 2026 season,” said Schär to nascar.eu. “The team has always provided me with the right conditions to improve and perform.”

“The sound of the V8 at full power, the atmosphere, the speed… It was overwhelming. At over 250 km/h, the car felt alive beneath me, dancing through the corners.”

“Competing in the Rookie Challenge is an exciting new step, and I’m fully motivated to take on this challenge.”
