2025 EuroNASCAR OPEN champion Thomas Krasonis will compete in the 2026 edition of World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing in the Pro Late Model category.
EDIT: This article was corrected on 31 January 2026 to add information on Krasonis’ participation in the 2024 World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing, which we have missed in the initial release.
Thomas Krasonis will make the trip to the United States for a return to New Smyrna Speedway. Krasonis, the EuroNASCAR OPEN champion, is set to compete in the 2026 World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing in the Pro Late Model division.
Krasonis’ return marks his return to the Florida short track venue, three years after his maiden oval outing at the same venue, event and division.
Jamie Skinner’s Team Race Car Solutions will also be reunited with Krasonis for the Greek’s 2026 New Smyrna outing.
Krasonis plans to race the No. 93 Chevrolet for six races at the World Series. This is the same car that he drove in 2024, while he drove Skinner’s No. 16K Chevrolet in 2023,
The Pro Late Model division is the lower division of the two Late Model classes in New Smyrna, but Krasonis is going to face heavy opposition from drivers all around the world.
Multiple-time New Smyrna champion Brad May, Nitro Motorsports’ ARCA talent Mia Lovell and 2024 NASCAR Brasil co-champion Gabriel Casagrande are among those that have been entered for World Series’ Pro Late Model races.
Given the high level of drivers participating, Krasonis expressed his readiness to do better on his third chance regardless of who he’s facing at New Smyrna.
“From the first time I went to the World Series of Asphalt [in 2023], I quickly learned the harsh realities of oval racing,” said Krasonis to nascar.eu.
“After a strong reality check on how far behind I was compared to the Americans on their home turf, I realized that the only way to improve was to gain experience on ovals.”
“The best place to do that is during the Speedweeks at New Smyrna’s World Series of Asphalt. That is why every time I get the chance, I want to be there.”
“This year, after a last-minute offer, I decided to do the entire event. Hopefully, as I always say, this time will be better than the last! I feel ready and prepared. Let’s see what happens.”
