EuroNASCAR received an invitation to take part in the 2024 NASCAR Awards, a banquet that left a lasting impression for series champion Vittorio Ghirelli.
The 2024 NASCAR season as a whole was concluded on 22 November with the annual NASCAR Awards. The banquet returned to NASCAR’s home town of Charlotte, North Carolina for the 2024 edition after several years of hosting the event in Nashville, Tennessee.
As always, several drivers from the NASCAR Euro Series were selected to take part. The banquet honors all of the national, international and regional champions that were crowned in 2024.
Names such as EuroNASCAR OPEN runner-up Patrick Schober, Rookie Trophy winner Victor Neumann, Challenger Trophy winner Dario Caso and Rookie Challenge champion Federico Monti are among those that were invited to the NASCAR Awards.
From the EuroNASCAR crew, the main star of the show is the newly crowned champion Vittorio Ghirelli. Ghirelli was honored on the main stage alongside all other International and Regional champions. He also added his name to NASCAR Hall of Fame’s Wall of Champions.
“NASCAR Euro Series is a really big family and what NASCAR does for fans is amazing!” said the champion after the NASCAR Awards. “It’s really amazing what we are achieving and the series is growing more and more.”
Ghirelli and the rest of the EuroNASCAR team also took their time in the United States to visit some of the holy grails of US NASCAR racing.
The EuroNASCAR contingent received guided tours at the headquarters of Hendrick Motorsports and Joe Gibbs Racing. They also experienced a true speedway experience with their visit to Charlotte Motor Speedway.
This left a lasting impression on the champ, who is amazed to see what EuroNASCAR has achieved so far. The Italian driver hopes that EuroNASCAR’s new era will allow for greater opportunities in the future.
“It’s awesome to be here with so many legends,” added Ghirelli. “We went to visit Hendrick Motorsports and it’s really on another level. Everything is bigger, everything is on another level. If you like NASCAR, this is the dream of every driver!”
“It’s really amazing what we are achieving and the series is growing more and more. I hope that with Joe Balash and his connections, [series founders] Jerome and Anne Galpin, we will make even stronger relations with the USA to make European drivers successful in the US.”
