EuroNASCAR and European Energy will be working together to create a healthier future by developing a carbon-free methanol fuel and other sustainable energy solutions.

NASCAR Whelen Euro Series and Denmark company European Energy Development Ltd will be collaborating together to research and develop renewable energy solutions.

According to the official announcement that was released on 21 October 2024, the collaboration will be primarily focused on developing a methanol fuel mix made out of renewable components.

EuroNASCAR will also be looking at the implementation of hydrogen, wind and solar energy in the year-to-year operations of the series.

“Team FJ and European Energy have signed an agreement to pursue more sustainable motorsports by integrating renewable energy solutions into the future of the NASCAR Euro Series,” the official announcement said.

“The agreement will focus on introducing renewable methanol to power the car used in the NASCAR’s official European championship.”

“In addition, the partnership will explore how renewable energy sources such as wind and solar power as well as green hydrogen can be used to further decarbonize the NASCAR Europe facilities, operations and value chain.”

The partnership announcement was welcomed by both parties. Representatives Jerome Galpin from EuroNASCAR and Jaime Casasus-Bribian from European Energy are excited to see what they can do to create a healthier future for the sport and the environment.

“This partnership with the NASCAR Euro Series is a thrilling opportunity to showcase how green fuels can power even the most energy-intensive sports while keeping the essence of it,” said Casasus-Bribian.

“We are excited to bring our first mover experience with renewable methanol to the forefront of motorsports, making a positive impact on both the environment and the racing community.”
