Lucas Oil has signed a deal with MotorSport Vision to become the title sponsor for the upcoming American SpeedFest at Brands Hatch, with the event now billed as the “American SpeedFest 10, Powered by Lucas Oil”.
American SpeedFest will have a title sponsor for the first time in the event’s history. This news was made official by SpeedFest’s organizers MotorSport Vision on 17 May 2023, who announced that Lucas Oil has signed a deal to become the SpeedFest’s “Headline Partner” for the 10th anniversary event.
“Lucas Oil has extended its association with top ranked motorsports events and confirmed its appointment as the 2023 Headline Partner of American SpeedFest at Brands Hatch on 17/18 June,” said MotorSport Vision on their official announcement.
“The 2023 festival 10th anniversary edition of the event will be known as American SpeedFest, Powered by Lucas Oil. The US manufacturer is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of oils, additives and workshop lubricants.”
Lucas Oil, the lubricant company based in Indianapolis, was founded by Forrest and Charlotte Lucas in 1989 and has maintained a strong presence in motorsport sponsorship over the past few decades. While Lucas Oil’s sponsorship was mainly focused on various dirt racing series across the United States, they have also made their presence known in NASCAR.
The company currently sponsors Kyle Busch’s No. 8 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet in the NASCAR Cup Series and had brought “KFB” to his first Cup Series win with RCR in the second round of the 2023 season, the Pala Casino 400 held at Auto Club Speedway.
On the announcement of Lucas Oil’s endorsement of the SpeedFest, Dan Morgan of Lucas Oil UK expressed his gratitude that the company is able to add the American SpeedFest towards their sponsorship programme.
“The Lucas Oil brand has a long association with high profile motorsports events. We’ve just added another,” said Morgan, the sales and operations director at Lucas Oil UK. “This is a clear demonstration of our commitment to motorsports and, importantly, to promoting our product range to motorsports fans on behalf of our distributors.”
American SpeedFest 10 is going to celebrate both the 75th anniversary of NASCAR and the tenth anniversary of EuroNASCAR’s crown jewel round. Action from EuroNASCAR PRO and EuroNASCAR 2 will headline the weekend at Brands Hatch, with further action provided from both the Pickup Truck Racing Championship and the Legends Cars National Championship.
There’s also going to be plenty of entertainment that is offered to the fans outside of the races. Muscle car displays, car and truck drifting, the “Corvette Anniversary Race”, exhibition run from monster trucks and the SpeedFest Country music festival headlined by local artists Kezia Gill and First Time Flyers ensures that the 17-18 June weekend will be a spectacular one.
