DF1 Racing enjoyed what they described as a successful weekend on last week's OMV MaxxMotion NASCAR Show at Autodrom Most after Marc Goossens scored his first podium finish of the season while strong finishes from Nicolò Rocca and Simon Pilate allowed them to maintain a strong position in their respective title race.
Last weekend's news saw the father-son duo of Michael and Sebastiaan Bleekemolen, Igor Romanov, Nicolò Gabossi, Simona Lenci, Gordon Barnes, and Andreas Kuchelbacher all announcing their return to the series in 2021 as DF1 made the surprise decision to switch Justin Kunz into EuroNASCAR 2 for a better chance of claiming the drivers and teams title.
Justin Kunz is going to be racing with DF1 Racing for a third season in 2021 after it was announced yesterday that Kunz has signed a new contract extension that will see him race the No. 99 Hama Trucks Chevrolet Camaro in the EuroNASCAR PRO class for another year.
In his post-Valencia press release, DF1 Racing’s Justin Kunz declares his 2020 NASCAR Whelen Euro Series campaign as a “very successful” season for him after finishing third in the Junior Trophy classifications and 10th in the overall standings.
NASCAR Whelen Euro Series’ 2019 champions Hendriks Motorsport and DF1 Racing visited Hockenheim on 15 July to do their first post-lockdown testing as they continued their preparation to defend their titles in 2020.
Today, Dexwet-DF1 Racing announced in a press release that Justin Kunz will be promoted to the newly-rebranded EuroNASCAR PRO division for the 2020 NASCAR Whelen Euro Series season.
