Canadian team Alumitec Racing moves their headquarters to France as part of their plans to go independent in the 2026 EuroNASCAR season.
Alumitec Racing is set for a massive change in their second NASCAR Euro Series campaign.
Having previously aligned themselves with Italian outfit CAAL Racing in 2025, Alumitec Racing announced that they moved their base of operations to France for the upcoming season. This meant that Alumitec will become an independently run team in 2026.
It is expected that Alumitec retains the ownership of the No. 11 entry in 2026, which they gained from CAAL after they took over the No. 54 team’s entry in 2025. The No. 54 CAAL team has since resurfaced with Claudio Remigio Cappelli announced as one of its drivers.
“Alumitec Racing is excited to announce that we are relocating our operations to France as part of our long-term strategic plan to strengthen our presence in the NASCAR Euro Series and European motorsport scene,” announced Alumitec through social media on 30 January 2026.
While the social media announcement was the first public announcement of Alumitec’s relocation, the team had previously announced the information in a press release on 20 January 2026, according to the time listed in its official website.
“Effective immediately, Alumitec Racing will establish its headquarters in Vulaines-sur-Seine, just outside Paris, within a brand-new mechanical development center dedicated exclusively to the NASCAR Euro Series,” adds Alumitec in its official press release.
“This new facility represents a significant investment that reflects Alumitec Racing’s clear objective: to contend for and ultimately win a NASCAR Euro Series championship beginning with the 2026 season.”
Alumitec states that their new headquarters will have “an advanced driver simulation program” and “a full in-house engine dynamometer”.
Alumitec also claims to have purchased six engines for the 2026 season. The Canadian team stated that the bulk purchase, combined with their in-house dynamometer, “allows the team to allocate the most appropriate engine to each circuit”.
Alain Lord Mounir, team boss of Alumitec, stated that the move to France is designed to facilitate Alumitec’s dream to become the EuroNASCAR champion.
“Relocating to France and investing in this new development center is a decisive step for Alumitec Racing,” said Lord Mounir in the official press release.
“This is not simply a move, it is a statement. Every resource, every square meter of this facility, and every person involved is focused on one objective: winning a NASCAR Euro Series championship.”
Alumitec finished third in the EuroNASCAR PRO standings with star driver Gianmarco Ercoli. Rookie teammate Valentino Gambarotto was 13th in EuroNASCAR OPEN.
Ercoli and Gambarotto’s combined efforts also allowed Alumitec to finish fourth in the Endurance Teams Championship. Alumitec was 21 points behind Teams champion Team Bleekemolen, although they were the best performing rookie team in 2025, finishing 10 points clear of Team Georgia.
