Alumitec Racing’s talented youngster Valentino Gambarotto explains why he decided to take on the EuroNASCAR challenge in 2025.
EuroNASCAR’s OPEN division welcomes several young rookie drivers to the grid in the 2025 season. This includes Italy’s Valentino Gambarotto, who is making his debut with Alumitec Racing.
Valentino Gambarotto has already made a name for himself as one of Italy’s top young drifting talents. He made his professional debut in July 2022 and achieved a third place finish in Verona’s International Drifting Show just a year later.
That same year, Gambarotto also started his circuit racing career through the SEAT Ibiza Cup. The 17-year old ran both categories in 2024, but in 2025 he decided to go for a new challenge.
This new challenge turned out to be EuroNASCAR, the top level of stock car racing in Europe. Gambarotto has already made his debut in the Valencia NASCAR Fest at Circuit Ricardo Tormo.
The decision to go for EuroNASCAR seems to be unexpected for Gambarotto, given the big differences between the EuroNASCAR stock cars compared to the drift and SEAT Ibiza touring cars that he raced prior.
However, Gambarotto chose EuroNASCAR precisely because of the differences. The Italian sees it as an “unique opportunity” for him to “grow towards professionalism”.
The decision to join EuroNASCAR is something that Gambarotto explained in a press release published on his official website. Here’s what Gambarotto said in particular:
“NASCAR represents a very important step in my career,” said Gambarotto. “I chose to enter the world of EuroNASCAR because I believe that this championship is a stimulating challenge and a unique opportunity to grow towards professionalism and with an eye overseas.”
“NASCAR cars are completely different from those I have driven so far and I like them a lot, both for their power and for the type of driving they require.”
“The decision to choose CAAL Racing [Alumitec Racing’s technical partner] was natural. It is a team that has consistently proven to be among the best, with an in-depth knowledge of EuroNASCAR.”
“Their experience and professionalism convinced me that it would be the right team for my debut in this championship. I’m sure that I will have the opportunity to grow and face every challenge in the best possible way with them.”
Gambarotto also made a statement on his goals for the 2025 season. The driver from Abano Terme states that he wants to learn first, while also acknowledging that there’s expectation placed on him to perform strongly as the season progresses.
“The expectations for 2025 are high, but I know that every step will require commitment and dedication,” said Gambarotto. “My main goal is to learn as much as possible and to improve every day from the races and from my teammates.”
“The step from drifting champion to EuroNASCAR driver is important and will require a great ability to adapt, especially in terms of driving techniques, tire management and race strategy.”
“I want to achieve solid results, maybe leading my team to prestigious positions and, if everything goes well, fight for the top positions. I’m very motivated and I think 2025 will be a crucial year for my career, not only to learn, but also to demonstrate my potential.“
