New team Alumitec Racing prepares an ambitious 2025 campaign with a car prepared by CAAL Racing and a star line-up in Gianmarco Ercoli and Valentino Gambarotto.

EuroNASCAR welcomes the arrival of a third new team in Alumitec Racing. Alumitec Racing created headlines on 5 April 2025 after they announced a major technical partnership with one of EuroNASCAR’s most successful teams, CAAL Racing.

Alumitec Racing is the brainchild of Alain Lord Mounir, the former owner of Go Fas Racing’s EuroNASCAR team. After a few years away, Lord Mounir is ready to challenge EuroNASCAR once more with his brand new Alumitec project.

Lord Mounir is aiming for big things for Alumitec right from the get go. This ambitious goal is made clear by the drivers that Lord Mounir chose to race Alumitec’s chrome No. 11 Ford Mustang in 2025.

Thanks to the CAAL partnership, Alumitec is able to acquire the services of 2023 EuroNASCAR champion Gianmarco Ercoli. Ercoli, who is still contracted to CAAL, will serve as Alumitec’s main driver in EuroNASCAR PRO.

“It was a tough road, but we’re here and ready,” said Ercoli to nascar.eu. “The team is fired up, and we want revenge. We’re starting again from the strong finish we had last season.”

As hinted from the above statement, Ercoli wants to reclaim the EuroNASCAR title that he lost in 2024. The 29-year old worked hard during the off-season with both CAAL and Alumitec to get everything ready for the new season.

The Italian also did not waste his time to reignite his rivalry with Vittorio Ghirelli. Ghirelli and Ercoli’s rivalry in 2024 was heated, with their encounter in Venray almost turning into a post-race brawl.

Things turned sour after they clashed again in the Zolder finals. Ercoli ran into the back of Ghirelli in the opening lap, spinning Ghirelli out and nearly costing Ghirelli the 2024 title.

Understandably frustrated, Ghirelli called Ercoli a “loser” during his post-race interview. Ercoli disagreed with this statement and wants to show Ghirelli who’s the boss in 2025.

“One driver said we’re just losers,” added Ercoli. “Well, we’ll see. I’ve always believed that defeats, when analyzed properly, teach more than victories.”

“The bond of trust between me and the team has never cracked, and that’s essential for any driver. This winter we worked hard, alongside our new partners, and I was asked to prepare myself in the best possible way to be seriously competitive.”

“This project with Alumitec Racing is the greatest opportunity of my career. I owe a lot to those who made it possible.”

“This is the beginning of a new era, and I’m proud and honored to be part of it. Step by step, you can get anywhere. Now, it’s time to get back on track.”

Joining Ercoli in Alumitec is the exciting 17-year old Valentino Gambarotto. Despite his age, Gambarotto rapidly rose on the ranks of the Italian drifting scene as one of their brightest young stars.

Just like drifting legend Daigo Saito who tried his hands on circuit racing through Super Taikyu in 2025, Gambarotto will also give circuit racing a shot with his full-time EuroNASCAR OPEN campaign at the Alumitec-CAAL joint project.

“I’m really happy to take part in a series that has fascinated me since I was a child,” said Gambarotto to nascar.eu.

“I know I’ll be facing high-level and more experienced opponents. However, I trust the experience and skill of my team to give me a car with the right setup at every race.”

“I’ll do my best to honor the efforts of my family and the sponsors who are supporting me in this new adventure.”
