EuroNASCAR held their first event in Greece on 17-19 January with a series of testing and promotional runs at Athens Megara Circuit.
NASCAR Euro Series always seeks to find new milestones for stock car racing in Europe. A new milestone was achieved recently when EuroNASCAR headed to Greece to complete their first runs in the country.
Athens Megara Circuit was chosen as the venue for the historic first run in Greece. The 2025 EuroNASCAR test cars hit the track from 17-19 January to not only do test runs, but also promotional exhibition runs with people invited to Megara.
“Three days of thrilling on-track action and engaging off-track promotional activities marked the NASCAR Euro Series’ historic first appearance in Greece,” stated EuroNASCAR on its official release.
“Team FJ brought two cars to the Megara Circuit for testing and promotional activities alongside Greek driver Thomas Krasonis. The initiative was met with resounding success.”

As stated above, the visit to Greece was not just any random visit. Thomas Krasonis was invited by EuroNASCAR to accompany Team FJ’s crew for a number of reasons.
For one, the Megara run was done to help promote the news of Krasonis’ signing with PK Carsport. The 23-year old will be racing the No. 13 Costamare Inc. Camaro for the Belgian juggernauts in both divisions in 2025.
Krasonis was also appointed as EuroNASCAR’s official ambassador in the country during the test. This appointment showcases EuroNASCAR’s intent to promote the series to the Greek race fans.
Krasonis has been a series regular since 2019, when he made his debut with Alex Caffi Motorsport. 2024 marked the Greek’s best season, finishing third overall in the EuroNASCAR OPEN standings and eighth in EuroNASCAR PRO.

“I can only say that I am proud of this achievement,” said Krasonis to euronascar.com. “I never thought in the beginning of my journey with the NASCAR Euro Series that I would arrive at this point.”
“I managed to achieve a dream of mine by bringing EuroNASCAR to Greece. The people who followed the event were amazed by the car!”
“I’m glad that the NASCAR Euro Series got positive feedback in Greece and I hope that we can have a race in my country in the future. As the series ambassador in Greece, I will try my best to make the people of Greece super fans of the championship!”
