Thomas Krasonis signs his contract extension with PK Carsport, confirming his intention to chase for the EuroNASCAR PRO title with the No. 13 Chevrolet in 2026.

Newly crowned EuroNASCAR OPEN champion Thomas Krasonis confirms his stay with PK Carsport for the upcoming 2026 NASCAR Euro Series season.

Krasonis announced on Halloween’s Day that he’ll be extending his contract with the Belgian team for a second season.

Because Krasonis can’t compete in EuroNASCAR OPEN for 2026 due to his impending promotion to Grade A status, the Greek will put all of his efforts to try and secure his first EuroNASCAR PRO title.

Such is Krasonis’ desire to win the EuroNASCAR PRO title that he and PK Carsport agreed to let Krasonis become the sole driver of the No. 13 Costamare Inc. Camaro for next year.

“My goal is simple: win the PRO championship,” said Krasonis to nascar.eu. “I have an amazing team at PK Carsport. We work incredibly hard, and we keep finding more speed every time we hit the track.”

“That’s why we made the call for the #13 to be a PRO-only entry. No distractions. We are 100% focused on fighting for the championship.”

Krasonis made history in the 2025 season by becoming the first Greek driver to win both a NASCAR race and a NASCAR championship title.

He started off his 2025 with wins in both divisions at Valencia and continued to score victories as the season progressed. It culminated in his crowning as EuroNASCAR OPEN champion at Zolder, ending his year with a total of seven wins – one in PRO and six in OPEN.

Krasonis was also in the hunt for the EuroNASCAR PRO title for the majority of the season, but DNF’s in Oschersleben and Zolder eliminated the Greek from the contention.

“I’m ready to push my competition to the limit and I’ll be prepared to the max for this season,” added Krasonis. “I’m living my dream, getting paid to drive fast, and I couldn’t do it without my incredible sponsors, Costamare and Dodoni, for their help in this project.”

PK Carsport team boss Anthony Kumpen backs Krasonis’ intention to go for the PRO title after his OPEN triumph. The Belgian, a former two-time PRO champion himself, believes that Krasonis will be one of the title favorites in 2026.

“Thomas was the surprise of the 2025 season for a lot of people, but not for us,” said Kumpen to nascar.eu. “Winning the OPEN title and grabbing victories in PRO showed his talent. He’s worked hard all winter, testing and working closely with Alon Day and it paid off.”

“Our goal, along with our sponsors, is to be on top in PRO. That’s why we made the strategic decision to run the #13 as a PRO-only car.”

“With the progress he’s made and a strong winter preparation, he is one of the favorites for the championship. The entire PK Carsport team is behind him to get the job done.”
