SpeedHouse driver Giorgio Maggi remarked that there’s a “strong positive trend” for him and the team heading to the EuroNASCAR Playoffs at Oschersleben and Zolder.
There’s a “strong positive trend” inside the No. 33 SpeedHouse Racing team at Autodrom Most as lead driver Giorgio Maggi slowly started to mount a challenge to his old rivals once again.
Maggi returned to EuroNASCAR in 2025 after a year of excursion to GT3 racing in 2024. There were a lot of expectations of Maggi, given his past successes in both EuroNASCAR PRO and EuroNASCAR OPEN across teams such as Hendriks Motorsport and Race Art Technology.
However, the first half of 2025 has proved to be a difficult one. Maggi were outshone by SpeedHouse’s teammate Vladimiros Tziortzis and only found his way back to the top-10 positions in the third round at Brands Hatch.
The good form continued at the fourth round in Czechia. Maggi showed solid race pace in the No. 33 Sud-Ouest Remorques Ford Mustang, finishing a season best eighth in Race 1 after a long fight with drivers such as Sebastiaan Bleekemolen, Jack Davidson and Paul Jouffreau.
Maggi also took home the bonus points for most positions gained in Race 1. He was level on position changes with his other teammate Ulysse Delsaux, but Maggi had a better finishing position – Delsaux was 13th.
Crash damage from a first corner collision in Race 2 limited Maggi’s gains, but the Swiss is happy with his upward trajectory heading to the Playoffs rounds at Oschersleben and Zolder.
“There’s a strong positive trend,” said Maggi when interviewed by Andre Wiegold prior to Race 2. “Our race pace has been quite good in the last few races.”
“We still have to work a little bit in Qualifying. However, now it’s really getting important to get that fixed, especially for the next few weekends with the double points.”
“There’s still a lot of points to grab and as you said, finally I’m in a decent position. We’ll see what happens.”
It was a similar up-and-down story for Maggi’s OPEN teammate Florian Richard, who failed to complete the first lap in his Race 1 due to a gearbox issue.
Richard then drove to 10th from the last row of the grid in Race 2, securing the bonus points in the process.
“Yesterday wasn’t my race because the gearbox broke in Turn 1,” said Richard to Leadlap. “In the second race, I started from 22nd place and managed to finish tenth. That was a good race for me. Now we’re looking ahead to Oschersleben.”
