EuroNASCAR PRO has a two-way tie in the championship lead between Gianmarco Ercoli and Vittorio Ghirelli after Ghirelli’s dominant victory on Sunday at Autodrom Most.

Vittorio Ghirelli said before the race that “the battle is on” for the championship. The quote paints the reality very well as Ghirelli’s win on the Sunday race at Autodrom Most makes him level on points with Gianmarco Ercoli on the top of the standings.

Ghirelli was given a big second chance on Sunday after he went all out on the fastest lap in a tough Saturday race to secure pole position for Race 2 in Czechia.

With his tires still relatively fresh due to his Saturday retirement, Ghirelli managed the pace at the front to secure his second win of the 2025 NASCAR Euro Series season.

“It was a very good race,” said Ghirelli in Victory Lane. “We played a bit of strategy yesterday with PK Carsport and we saved the tires.”

“We had all of the issues in Qualifying and didn’t have any laps in Practice, so this was a really good comeback and we won entering the Playoffs.”

“It was important to get this win for the sponsors, for the family, for the team and let’s go to the Playoffs. I’m hyped!”

Runner-up Gianmarco Ercoli concedes defeat to his great on-track rival. He acknowledged that Ghirelli’s tire life advantage made it difficult for his No. 11 Alumitec Ford to keep up with the race winner.

Liam Hezemans also took advantage of his strong start position to clinch third position. Liam won the Junior Trophy battle with ease, finishing 10 seconds in front of a struggling Paul Jouffreau.

After going pretty much incident free on Saturday, the yearly Turn 1 incident at Autodrom Most struck on Sunday. Fabrizio Armetta bumped Thomas Krasonis into Giorgio Maggi’s SpeedHouse Ford, causing Maggi’s early retirement and a minute worth of penalty being administered to Armetta post-race.

The race was also filled with attrition, with seven more drivers retiring from mechanical issues and/or punctures.

This was good news for Bruno Mulders, who jumped from 14th on the grid all the way to fifth in the final results.

Mulders claimed his first top-5 finish in EuroNASCAR PRO by beating Martin Doubek and teammate Sebastiaan Bleekemolen. Fellow Team Bleekemolen teammate Michal Makeš also impressed with an eighth place finish.

Ulysse Delsaux survived the chaos to gain the bonus points for most positions gained. Delsaux finished ninth after starting from a lowly 20th position.

Max Lanza took home his first top-10 finish of 2025, but he did not score championship points. It’s later revealed that Lanza is approached by tire suppliers Hoosier to test and develop the 2026-spec tires on his No. 89 Chevrolet Camaro for Most.

As he ran parts that aren’t approved for official usage just yet, Lanza’s participation is declared to be “non-championship”. It meant that he’s considered as non-existent in the points distribution, although Lanza officially keeps his tenth place in the record books.

Lanza was also the last car to finish without any damage, as Krasonis and Armetta brought home their battered cars in 11th and 12th respectively.

Federico Monti was the last classified finisher in 13th. Monti’s pace slowed down considerably on the final lap and he got lapped by the leaders with just two corners remaining.

Vladimiros Tziortzis, Thomas Toffel, Julien Rehberg, Garrett Lowe and Jack Davidson all retired due to mechanical issues while punctures led to the retirement of Davit Kajaia and Claudio Remigio Cappelli.
